Here are some advantages of Windows web hosting:

1. If the site in question is developed using .NET technologies by Microsoft, then Windows web hosting is the right solution for hosting.

2. There are several choices while selecting a database and there are enterprise class databases as well. However, if a site is using MYSQL database from Microsoft, then Windows hosting would be a good choice.

3. If Access Database is used on the site, then Windows hosting would be the only choice of hosting as MS Access would not run on a server not running Windows OS.

4. If the site uses any specific Microsoft services, for example SharePoint, then Windows hosting would be a good hosting choice.

5. Since Windows OS is a licensed operating system by Microsoft, support for the hosting and OS is lot better than that of open source platform hosting.

Do not be intimated by the technical jargon that is happening to you at warped speed. These are the essentials for you to consider if you want to avail the Windows Web Hosting service or settle for the Linux web hosting service. They both offer good support but Windows is commonly used and since you are a beginner in this field, have your best I.T. person to walk you through the technical terms. It boils down to your given budget so think it over first before you secure a paid service.
