File sharing software, in essence, allows people to share their respective files and documents from their personal computers. These software applications are installed in individual computers and allow viable peers to access files on shared computers. The most widely used file sharing software is fashioned after the peer-to-peer model. This allows peers to access and share a host of files, regardless of location.

A peer-to-peer file sharing network does not prohibit peers eager to simply download files. Often the etiquette of file sharing networks is a 1:1 ratio between uploads and downloads. This is not the case with P2P networks as peers are allowed to stay connected and access information regardless of sharing profiles. Indeed, access to files can be limited to users according to levels of membership, making it especially useful for companies with diversely located employees.

You can set up the P2P file sharing application to limit specific files from being accessed. You can work with all your business associates regardless of their location. You can specify certain files for your affiliates to access and a different set of files for your clients use. You can securely manage all the files associated with your business using the peer-to-peer software application.

When changes are made to a file it will still retain its original name although it will be a different version, this saves a lot of time, as you will be able to view the history of who made the changes and on what date they were made. If you have many members working with the files this will make you business run much more efficiently as you will have access to all the information you need when it comes to your files. Any members who are involved in this project will be informed when changes are made. They will have the option of how often to be told about changes to files.

There are some differences between file sharing applications but for the most part, they all have great search capabilities. They will perform a fast and accurate search so users can access the information they need without wasting time. If you are in the network, you can send and receive a large file without worrying about how fast your internet is connecting.

File sharing is not restricted to team and company networks. The advent of high speed internet connection and fast downloads means that there are now many different ways that people can share files across the internet. All shareable files are stored in a central and secure location that allows users to share information. Most file sharing software applications give users complete control over the security of their information.
