Arguably the most important part of your bed will be the mattress. The mattress is what you rest on and it's important that it be both comfortable and firm enough to provide adequate back support.

Another part of the bed that many people don't consider as important is the bed frame. The bed frame is what the mattress and in some cases, the box spring rests on. Choosing the right bed frame can also have an impact on whether or not you feel back pain after waking up in the morning.

One of the most crucial details to consider when choosing a bed frame is its height. The height of the bed frame will directly change the height of your mattress. It's wise not to choose a bed frame that will place your mattress at a height that is uncomfortable for you to get on and off of it.

You can purchase a bed frame that is made of metal with wheels. This type of bed frame is normally sold in a standard height and positions the mattress at a height that is ideal for most people. Another positive aspect of this type of bed frame is that it can be moved for ease in cleaning. Cleaning behind and under the bed is often overlooked and this can lead to allergies as well as other health problems.

Although a metal bed frame isn't very attractive that can easily be taken care of. Most linen stores now sell dust ruffles which are attractive covers for a box spring. These cover the bed frame completely keeping it out of sight while at the same time adding a nice finishing touch to the bed linens.

A very popular choice in a bed frame for children is a wooden frame. Often this type of bed frame will have several drawers or shelves so that the child can keep toys or clothing in their bed. Parents often refer to this type of bed frame as a captains or mates bed which makes the child feel they are going on an adventure each time they go to sleep.

A bed frame crafted from wood doesn't necessarily have to be found in the room of a child. There are many fashionable and attractive styles available for double, queen and king size beds as well. This type of bed frame can be custom made to suit the décor of the bedroom it will be placed in. Many people take advantage of this and choose a color for the wooden bed frame that complements their room.

Regardless of which type of bed frame you choose it's wise to remember that investing a bit of extra money in a sturdy and well made bed frame will save you in the long run. Not only will you have to replace it much less often but a quality bed frame will give your mattress support which will result in a better and more comfortable sleep for you.
