Currently, the Information Networking Institute at Carnegie Mellon University is dedicated to information security, computer security and information assurance, and there are a number of professional organizations out there. Experienced personnel in penetration testing, digital forensics investigation, and network security auditing have become much more in demand than in the past. The increased demand has fueled the existence of a number of different specialty companies, providing much needed services. Security consultants are common.
