Before any online business talks to a web design professional about how they want to set up and market their site, it is important to think about exactly what their goals are and how they want to go about achieving those goals. A web site design service provider should be able to help achieve those goals as long as they know what the client wants. If the online business owner does not know what they want to achieve, though, it will be hard to provide the right web site design service.

The first thing that one must decide before getting into any web design project is the purpose of the new site, so the designer and the client will be able to focus everyone's efforts on the right target. The secondary goals of the web site design service must also be decided upon, since there are always multiple stakeholders involved with the company who have their own different priorities. Secondary goals might require professional SEO services to reach a larger audience and build a stronger possible customer base once the site has been built.

Web design also requires specific decisions about how to measure the success of the new site, since ecommerce sites will obviously measure revenue and sites that do not do their actual business online will simply want to measure the number of sales-ready leads. There are many other ways to measure the success things like professional SEO services as well, depending on the type of business and the goals of the site.

Before undertaking any web design project it's also a good idea to think about what areas of the site are already successful to decide what is working and what has to go. Presumably this is the reason for needing the web site design service something isn't working on the current site. By taking the time to decide what the goals of the redesign are, how to measure the success of the redesign and what is good about the current site, success is much easier to reach.
