So you finally managed to get your site up and running, and now you want video added to the site. Only thing is you don't have the slightest idea why you can't just copy paste a video into your site, don't worry help is at hand. Videos are almost indispensable to your site if you are an educational site or if you are planning to make a multimedia rich site. However the important thing to understand is that simply embedding video is not an option. In fact the reason why sites use streaming videos is because streaming is much faster.

Before we go into how to use streaming video the first thing to understand is the difference between streaming video and embedded video. Lets take an example lets say there is an empty tank, embedding an entire video is like waiting for the tank to fill and then siphoning water via a tap. It takes much longer for an embedded video to load because the movie is a complete object. The only way you can view an embedded video is to wait for the whole video to load, this is the reason why no one uses embedded video, and the simpler option is to use streaming video. Streaming video is like directing the water flow directly to the tap without waiting for the tank to fill.

Why use streaming video?

It is a well known fact that multimedia is essential in increasing the presence of a site as well as making it more user friendly. For example a site that teaches DIY (do it yourself) plumbing can improve itself many times over by offering online videos. The same applies for educational sites; it is an established fact that people can learn much faster if they are presented facts using audio visual tools. If you are looking to make a site that is rich in multimedia content, but at the same time is fast loading and has video content, then streaming video is the way forward. Also remember that you don't need expertise in programming or video editing to upload your videos. Just download tools available on sites like easyflv.com and you can actually upload videos in no time.

Not only does streaming video load faster but it also allows users with lower bandwidth to view videos. In fact one of the first things to do if you are considering streaming videos is making your video is easy to access in terms of the bandwidth required. Usually all major streaming videos are in the Adobe Flash format (FLV. Not only are FLV videos easy to embed into a web page, but FLV videos are also considerably smaller in size when compared to other file formats. If you are looking to make an impact without creating a site that is demanding on bandwidth then a video file in FLV format is a good idea.

In addition another thing you can do to make sure that your videos are quick loading, is reduce other multimedia aspects of the page. Make sure that the page has fewer flash and multimedia elements like images etc. By reducing the number of multimedia elements you not only ensure that the video is the centrepiece of the page, but you also make sure the page on a whole loads much faster. A popular method is to upload a video on sites like youtube and then simply create a link to the video on your site. The only problem with using a third party site like youtube is that it redirects users away from your site.

If you are still confused as to how to upload videos on your site you can visit sites like www.easyflv.com. Sites like easyflv.com have easy to use tools that allow users to upload videos on their sites with minimal coding at almost negligible costs. All in all the easiest way to embed streaming videos into your website is to download software.
