A Blackjack win pays one and a half times your initial bet. If you do not have Blackjack, the face down card is added to the face up card. There are many other types of betting options. These depend on where the game is played. For example a casino may choose to offer several different types of blackjack games, while maintaining the essential blackjack rules. Some other betting options include Even money, Surrender, and Late surrender. Even money is where the player is allowed to cash in the bet right away at a one to one. However the player must have a blackjack with two cards, and the dealer must be showing an ace. Surrender is where a player is allowed to give up their hand and lose only half the bet. A Later surrender is where the dealer checks to see if he or she has a blackjack and if so, the player cannot give up their hand.
