In this guide, modifying the settings for your proxy server is made through IE version 7, the latest version of Internet Explorer. If the one you have installed is an older version, you may need to upgrade your computer’s browser.
Once you have installed and opened Internet Explorer version 7, go to the “Tools" tab located at the upper right portion of the page. Among the selections provided, click “Internet Options." Click on the “Connections" tab. Choose the “Settings" button by clicking on it.
Once you go to the “Settings" button, a roster of setting options will appear. Go over this list. Click on the circle beside the setting options that you would like to change.
Afterwards, click “OK". Once you have done this, your proxy settings have already changed. If you wish to modify the settings once again, just follow the same steps in this guide but choose a different selection among the list of setting options and, again, click “OK". If you were not able to click “OK", the current settings you have will still be used by your proxy server.
For Internet Explorer version 7, the proxy settings can only be modified by the Administrator. Aside from the Administrator account, other accounts such as the Guest will not be allowed to make some modifications in the proxy settings even on the same computer.
Internet Explorer version 7 offers a variety of security features. These features are built-in to protect your computer while you’re connected to the Internet. Some of these features include a pop-up blocker and a firewall. However, Internet Explorer version 7 does not include an anti-malware program that can keep your computer safe from malicious programs such as viruses, worms, Trojans, RATs )Remote Access Tools), spyware, etc.
