Why Save Those Papers?
Aydan Corkern
You have to keep tax papers, divorce papers, and anything that is a document because you may need them later on. These documents are very important because they need them if you try to get a house loan, bank loan, or any other loan that you may need. To prove that you have a job, that you have paid your taxes and so you can get approved, you will need to furnish these documents as proof. You can keep your documents in a file cabinet, in a box in the closet, or in your drawers. You need to keep your documents for tax deductions and verification, and you need to keep them for 7 years to be on the safe side just in case you need it later. You need to keep your medical bills, a copy of your house contract, utility bills, receipts, legal documents, credit reports and the history of it, investments, etc.
When it comes to your taxes you want to keep these things so you can use them on your income taxes. If you have your own business and you buy items for it, you can use them as a tax write-off because it is used for your work. You can get some of that money back at the end of the year. You have to use a longer tax paper, but it will be a good thing to do. If you keep your house contract then you will know what it says and what you can't do. This way your landlord cannot lie to you just to get some more money out of you or so they can't take you to court to try to sue you for some reason or another. It is also a good thing to do so they can't try to sell or rent your home out from under you.
You need to hold on to your credit report so you can get things that you want and to keep watch over your credit score. Nowadays your credit is what they look at the most to see if they can approve you for a loan. Everything goes by credit now. If you ruin your credit, it will be hard for you to get or do anything you want. Divorce papers are very important. If you lose them you can't get it back and you can get in trouble. These papers will specify your moral and financial obligations. If you don't live up to your financial obligations, you could even up in jail.
