Life after high school was a canyon   Ten miles wide and 20 songs long   I trekked the whole thing in a troop   Some starved some bled none ever recouped   When I look back   It'd be nice to say   "I found myself along the way"   But the hike hasn't been a Disney movie   And I'm not a talking lion hero   Truth is my life has always been more like    Something directed by George Romero   So when I finally stumble onto the finish line   I'm struck stone by what I find   I stand all amazed   At a massive grave site   My life was all staged   I thought I was a pioneer   But every corpse is screaming out   "There's hope again   There's fuel again   A fleeting chance   A closed window with no pane."
