Turning Point: Fall of Liberty

For PS3, Xbox 360 and PC, it is an upcoming game developed by Spark Unlimited and Codemasters publishing it. The game is still to be announced for an actual date but it is expected in the first quarter of 2008.

The plot is set in an alternate timeline. It is shown that Winston Churchill gets hit by a cab in New York City in 1931 and dies (not in reality, he survived). It is eight years before the World War II. Now, Britain is not able to prevail in the battle against Germany without a strong leader and thus, Britain is invaded by German Powers. And the Axis Power becomes strong to overcome the rest of Europe, Ireland, Iceland and Greenland.

But the desires of the victorious Axis Power seem to have no end. It gives a surprise attack on the American Eastern Seaboard in 1953. Finally, the game starts with a construction worker named Dan Carson in New York.

You can expect an impressive gameplay throughout enjoying the graphics of this first-person shooter game by Unreal Engine 3.0. Gameplay videos are available on video-game-based websites. Game graphic is outstanding. When watching the gameplay, I felt it a little-bit like Call of Duty series. The player will have a grenade notification on screen whenever he is somewhere around it. He can sprint along the way if he wants a quick run just like the player can in Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare. While giving a melee/counter attacks, the player shifts on from first-person shooter to third-person enabling him to view Dan punching or knocking the enemy down. First-person view also come into perspective when the player is climbing up or down a ladder, hanging on ledges and more like these.

Like an alternate timeline, the game carries more advanced versions of weapons of Axis, and the new weapons that were in research and developed late during World War II. The Panzerkampfwagen VIII Maus and Landkreuzer P. 1000 Ratte are the superheavy tanks will appear in the game. These vehicles, however, did not exist into mass-production.

The most new thing in this first-person shooter is that the player is not a soldier, but a worker who is managing himself to survive throughout the war.
