Wind Beneath My Ring!

By: John Gray

This summer music lovers will be flocking to the festivals.? The Isle of Wight Festival, Leeds Festival, Reading Festival, Download, V and Glastonbury are just a few of the festivals happening this year, and they are as popular as ever!? So what do you do when you are at your favourite festival and you need to make that all important mobile phone call (maybe to call for vital supplies such as beer or toilet roll!), only to find that your battery is dead???

Fear not Orange have come to the rescue with their wind operated mobile phone charger!? I'm afraid its only going to be at Glastonbury but if it catches on who knows how many festivals will feature one next year.

The wind powered mobile phone charging station stands at over seven meters tall and can (quite impressively) charge up to 100 mobile phones at the same time!? The Recharge Pod also uses solar panels to charge your mobile phones.

Orange believe that the amount of energy that the Pod will generate over the 3 day festival is the equivalent of powering a DJ booth for Groove Armada for a mammoth 88 hour set!

?Glastonbury has an expected capacity of 175,000 +, spread over 900 acres land.? It's therefore not hard to see how friends and family can get split up and need to contact each other via mobile phone.? It seems that mobile phones have become an essential tool for festival survival, and with Oranges recharge pod on hand to top up your battery you should be able to keep in touch for the whole 3 days.
