In the words of the philosophical British author James, As a man thinketh so is he. What we are and what we become is a result of what we focus our minds on. In many cases we think random thoughts constantly reacting to random events around us. As a result of our random thinking our life experiences become a random mixture of events.
In order to experience the good in life we must learn to channel our thinking only onto the good. It is not possible to constantly dwell on the things which weigh you down and be a highly motivated person. Thus if you seek to be successful let your thoughts be thoughts of success. Look for the successful businesses, the successful authors, the successful mothers, the successful relationships and find inspiration in them.
As you dwell on the successful stories you will then realise that actually success is not something that is impossible for you. Those stories will be real life testimonials that affirm to you that success is achievable.
On the other hand if you choose to focus on opposite thoughts, that tell you success is impossible then you will have a hard time achieving success yourself. It is whatever we think and believe that will become true for us.
Once we come to the understanding that what we think causes much of what happens in life, then we begin to become master over what happens in our own lives. Every thinking process that we have, creates various results in the body and mind. So, we understand that adverse thinking can produce a variety of different undesirable conditions, while wholesome thinking can produce conditions of value and worth.
In fact medical science already supports this point. For example when we worry over something, we immediately feel very low, discouraged and disheartened. If we continue to worry and worry, then depression and other stress related diseases are sure to come. Hence it is true to say every thought we think affects our health. Of course this is not to say that if you think of a headache you will instantly get one, but habitual negative thinking can certainly cause disease in the long run.
Different thought processes cause different outcomes and experiences. Some thought processes may lead to poverty and poor health, while there are others that can lead to wealth, power, and health. Chaotic thinking can bring about misfortune and trouble, but by arranging our system of thinking, we can totally determine our future, even though it may be years in advance.
So what does this knowledge mean to us. How do we overcome thinking thoughts which sabotage us. Simple but not to be underestimated for sure. As we think so we become. If you wish to experience abundance, then think abundance. Think of people, places and things associated with abundance. Have visions of yourself in abundance. By all means we should avoid thoughts contrary to that which we want to create.
Henry Ford, founder of Ford Motors put it this way,Those who think can and those who think they cannot, they are both right.
