It's been said that the ability to act on knowledge is power. I would say the ability to act on your knowing is true power. The knowing I'm referring to is not accumulated knowledge. Knowledge is something out there or it's something you convince yourself is valuable. It's not intimate to you. It doesn't truly express you. As an infinite being, you perceive, know, be and receive. That's how you truly live and express yourself.
Knowing is awareness rather than thought. When you have a knowing about something, there's an aliveness to it. Some people might call it intuition or a gut feeling. Have you ever just known something without having a logical explanation of how you knew it? You couldn't explain it, you just knew. And it turned out to be true. You might have known, for instance, who was calling when the phone rang. You didn't have the technology of caller ID. You had your own technology. Awareness.
When something is not intimately part of you, when you haven't really experienced it with your whole being when you act on it, it doesn't fulfill you. You may be doing something for you, but you're not doing something as you. There isn't an expansion of your being as you're acting. Even though you may motivate yourself to act, on some level you're going through the motions. Action may get results, but it's not nourishing you as you're doing it. You're wearing yourself down in the process. You're tired or at least not uplifted afterwards. Continuing to act out of force or habit wears you down. It isn't fun. Sooner or later you rebel or end up disempowering yourself.
When you act from your knowing on the other hand, you're full of energy all the way through. You often have more energy when you're done. It's fun. You're ready for more. What else is possible?
So if you really wish to act with greater power and joy of creating, get in touch with your knowing. How do you get in touch with your knowing? You ask questions. Ask a question and be open to receive the answer. Don't try to figure out the right answer. Don't try to use your imagination. Thinking and imagination are limited by what you already know.
Your knowing may come from inside you or it may come from the universe. It could come from reading a line in a book, hearing a child sing a song, being in nature or seeing a billboard driving down the street. The point is that you're an infinite being, you can access your knowing by simply asking a question.
Once you have a knowing about something, claim and own it. Don't marry someone you know you shouldn't just because you sent out the wedding invitations to 300 people. I've known people who've actually done that! It is insane, but we go against our knowing. Claim and own your knowing baby. Life is too rich and full of possibilities to waste your time with what doesn't fulfill you.
Ok you say, I have a knowing about what I should do, but I'm still procrastinating. How do I move forward. Ask a question. "What would it take for me to act on this?" or "What do I love about not acting on this?" If you keep choosing something, there's something you must love about it. It has to be working for you in some way. Is it really working the way you want it to? Or is it a way to get by and hide from your power?"
Be with the question. Don't try to figure it out. Some awareness will come that can unlock this for you. You may need to let go of some limiting decision or belief you hold onto. You can choose to destroy and uncreate it.
You may be inspired by your greater clarity to act or you may need to make a demand of yourself. "Whatever it takes, I'm going to do this."
What would it be like if your actions not only move you forward, they empower and fulfill you as you act?
