Golfers often hear a teaching professional say something like: You don't learn the game of golf by taking out a driver and hitting from the first tee in the U.S. Open. In a similar way, no one in their right mind would think they can learn to drive by taking an Indy-style car around the oval track at 200 miles per hour.
So, those who want to get involved in the great sport of skydiving shouldn't expect to get into an airplane, climb to 10,000 feet and jump out, without some learning time first. This is where the professionals at a top skydiving school enter the picture.
Getting The Knowledge You Need
Beginners might think that parachuting and skydiving are simply the act of leaping out of a plane, pulling the "rip" cord and letting the parachute lower the skydiver gently to earth. This is true to some extent, however some instruction must be passed from expert to newcomer first. It is widely known that the great skills displayed in any sport look simple because the individuals have spent a great deal of time perfecting their technique. This certainly holds true for skydiving.
While there are several ways to start enjoying this sport, all the most popular learning methods begin with some significant on-the-ground instruction. In the end, this is meant to make each jump safe and enjoyable (the only way to fully experience a breathtaking activity such as skydiving).
Students and newcomers to skydiving school should be prepared to ask serious questions, to clear up any doubts that may interfere with the skydiving experience. There are very few silly questions during skydiving instruction and the student should be willing to ask for clarification if he or she does not understand an idea or instruction the first time. Good skydiving school instructors will never rush through training to get to the next group of students. Freefalling is not the time to have doubts, even if the first jump is in tandem with an experienced instructor. Before getting on the sky, its better to know how to skydive.
Word Of Mouth
As with many exciting sports and recreational activities, skydiving enthusiasts love to talk about the sport with others. This enthusiasm has a benefit beyond the joy of sharing. Good skydiving schools and jump centers will find increased business through word-of-mouth advertising. Those just starting to look for a suitable skydiving school should seek out a local skydiving club or talk to the experts at a local airport. These experienced skydivers and pilots can provide reliable information on skydiving schools that can help people get started with one of the world's most exciting sports.
