Breakups can be very emotional and traumatic. It is not uncommon to isolate yourself from friends and to feel that your whole world is collapsing. However, wallowing around in self pity and misery is not going to get your ex back. In fact, the very things you probably feel like doing such as phoning and begging them to come back will ruin any chance you have of getting them back

So, if you have decided that you are going to get your ex back you need to start doing what it takes to get them back. It can be difficult but you need to become the personal they fell in love with in the first place. Granted, you'll probably be faking because of how awful you feel, but the good news is that it doesn't matter.

Tip 1:

I recommend you stay separated from your ex for at least a month to give yourself and your ex some much needed space. Most of you will find this piece of advice difficult to follow, but I can almost guarantee that if you beg, cry, cajole or harass your ex in any way the chances of reconciliation are zero. Even if they do happen to reconcile with you out of guilt or pity the relationship is doomed.

Tip 2:

Take this month to really think about the relationship. Ask yourself where you went wrong and at what point the relationship started to deteriorate. If you can determine the problem you can ensure that it doesn't happen again when you get back together.

Tip 3:

Continue to go out and enjoy and experience life. Spoil yourself, do what you love to do. I know it can be difficult to find motivation to do anything, but being busy is much better than continually wallowing in self pity. More importantly though, is that your ex may notice how well you are coping with the breakup, become curious and pay attention to you again. This works especially well if the two of you share mutual friends. Even if you are just pretending to have fun while you're out, it will have the same effect on your ex.

By no means is this a complete list of things to do to get your ex back but they will certainly improve your chances. It works, because it involves no direct contact with them. They get think of you as the confident, happy person they fell in love with and may well start missing you as much as you miss them.
