Side Effects of Armour Thyroid
Before taken Armour Thyroid medicine, you should discuss the side effects with your doctor. If any develop or change in intensity, then you should inform your doctor as soon as possible. If you experience chest pain, increased pulse rate, palpitations, excessive sweating, heat intolerance, or nervousness, please consult your doctor immediately; your dose may need to be adjusted.
Warnings and precautions before taking Armour Thyroid:
*If you suffer from angina such as chest pain, then you should be taken Armour Thyroid at a lower dosage. Before having any kind of surgery (including dental surgery) or emergency treatment, tell the medical doctor or dentist in charge that you are taking this medicine.
*Do not take any other medicine unless prescribed by your doctor. Some medicines may increase or decrease the effects of thyroid on your body and cause problems in controlling your condition. Also, thyroid hormones may change the effects of other medicines.
*If you are taking Armour Thyroid, then it may lead to aggravate symptoms of diabetes and underactive adrenal glands.
*If you have any medical condition such as heart problem, then you should be used this medicine with extra caution.
Drug Interaction :-
If you are taking Armour Thyroid with certain other drugs, then the effects of either could be increased, decreased, or altered. So it is especially important to check with your doctor before combining Armour Thyroid with the following:
*Asthma medications such as Theo-Dur
*Blood thinners such as Coumadin
*Cholestyramine
*Colestipol
*Estrogen preparations
*Insulin
*Oral diabetes drugs such as Diabinese and Glucotrol
Overdose
An overdose of Armour Thyroid will speed up all of the body's vital processes, causing physical and mental hyperactivity, increased appetite, excessive sweating, chest pain, increased pulse rate, palpitations, nervousness, intolerance to heat, and possibly tremors or a rapid heartbeat.
