Small businesses are an integral part of the U.S. economy. In 2007, more than 80 percent of jobs were held by people working in small businesses and they contribute a valuable boost to our communities by virtue of job creation, civic efforts, and economic contributions. Therefore, ensuring the success of small businesses and protecting their ability to operate successfully is a vital factor in helping to ensure the vitality and economic success of our nation.

In this age of technology and e-commerce, the use of the Internet drives the majority of business for many small businesses, just as it does for larger businesses. The Internet -- and its affect on e-commerce and business -- has, in a way, become the "great equalizer" of small business and their larger corporate counterparts. Technology brings the personal touch of the small business and the large marketing bankrolls of "super businesses" onto somewhat equal footing, giving small businesses a better opportunity to succeed.

This being the case, it is vitally important for small businesses to maintain their computer network solutions in order to keep them working properly and efficiently. Routine maintenance, combined with regular updates, upgrades, and support can help a small business ensure that their investment (both in the business and in the computer equipment) is well protected and their business can survive and thrive online.

Routine maintenance begins with protecting your computers and networks from viruses, and spyware. An effective virus protection software program can ensure the longevity of your computer network by helping to keep it free from dangerous viruses that can threaten your information and software. Additionally, spyware prevention software can help keep unwanted hackers out of your systems to ensure that your sensitive information is kept private and is not compromised.

Keeping your software updated and upgraded is also a vital part of ensuring the longevity and integrity of the online portion of your business. Installing regular software updates will ensure that you have the newest, safest and most efficient software for your needs. Also, it is important to regularly upgrade your systems to stay on top of the constantly evolving technology to keep your computer network running smoothly by avoiding down time due to problems that could occur due to old or faulty components.

Finally, it is important to maintain your systems by using computer network support that is available in your area. Most small business owners do not have the know-how to provide complicated support and network solutions for their own systems; therefore it is vital to find a trusted technician that you can call in to save valuable time in the event of an unforeseen technical problem.

Whether you are in a small town like Dallas, Wisconsin, or a large metropolis like Dallas, Texas, small business computer network solutions are of vital importance in maintaining the vitality of small businesses that operate online.
