When Elle enters Harvard, she is criticized and doubted for her abilities because she is blonde and dresses stylishly. The film ended with Elle graduating with high honors and earning the respect of both her peers and superiors.

* Gentlemen Prefer Blondes - This film is an adaptation of the 1949 stage musical. Gentlemen Prefer Blondes stars Marilyn Monroe and Jane Russell. The two girls are showgirls and best friends, and the film focuses on their love lives. The character Lorelei Lee, played by Monroe, is engaged to marry Gus Edmond, but his father disapproves of the match.
