Hei Sushi is known as the halal version of Sakae Sushi, even the menu is also kinda similar to Sakae Sushi. I personally think that the food there are average, no much choice though, he sushi on the conveyor belt are kinda limited. The ordering system is troublesome, although it is simple enough to function, but time for the food to be served is quite fast. There are still space for the improvement of the freshness of the food. The sushi overall is ok, and among all, I prefer chawanmushi the most.
I was shopping for my friend\'s present at IMM. And I passed this Hei Sushi stall selling sushi, so decided to get some sushi using the IMM coupons. Got these 4 sushi at $2only. The salmon sashimi sushi and egg sushi tasted quite fresh. But didnt like the taste of the rice, seems like too much vinegar was added, so it tasted too sour for me to accept. But overall, still a not too bad sushi.Spending: Approximately SGD 2
After dinner, my family and I went shopping around within IMM. We walked passed this kiosk selling sushi. It was after 9pm and the sushi were selling at 50% off, since they had to get rid of the remaining ones. I saw that they had the Amaebi (the raw sweet prawn) sushi, my must have when I go sushi feasting. Even though the sushi might not have been freshly made, the taste of the Amaebi was still very fresh. And it was only $0.50 per piece. Super value deal!Spending: Approximately SGD 1
Was visiting some relatives during CNY and wanted to find a place nearby for lunch and was told it\'s opened during the new year period. It was the first visit and perhaps the last one for me.We were the 2nd set of customer that day and the restaurant wasn\'t too crowded but I was disappointed at the quality of the food and service wasn\'t great..Had diarrhoea after having lunch there!!!!!
For only $18.88++, one can eat unlimited sushi (subject to terms and conditions). And for someone who is hungry, I find it worthwhile. Thus, I stepped into the Hei Sushi at Downtown East for its dinner buffet. For the buffet, I was entitled to a udon, a red plate sushi, all $2.18 colored plates, a green tea and dessert. I decided to go for the udon first and was disappointed with the few strands of udon with a couple pieces of seaweed The red plate of sashimi I ordered was ok, just that the chefs could have sliced the fish into thinner slices. The rest of the buffet was the ordering of the usual sushi which did not taste different from those sold outside. I did not eat much as I was full quite soon and dessert in the form of King\'s ice cream was takeaway.Spending: Approximately SGD 22
