At Korfton - our tutors make THE difference STAR CLASSES (1) Elementary Mathematics Our Elementary Mathematics classes are conducted based on one-to-one tutoring. Even though it is group tuition, the teacher, Ms Joyce Neo, will cover the topic that each student is currently doing in school. And as our classes are small, Ms Neo will have time to help each student. Our lessons compliments the school curriculum, with added revision worksheets, quizzes and school papers to prepare our students for their class tests, school common tests and examinations. We also have different classes for Normal (Academic) and Express stream. Even for our O level classes, Sec 5 Normal(Acad) students are separated from Sec 4 Express students so as to better prepare them for their examinations. (2) Revision classes for Additional Mathematics - O level classes Other than the weekly lessons that cover the current topics taught in school, we also have special revision classes for N and O level students. Such revision classes are conducted once a week, in addition to the regular Sec 4 A Math lessons. For the revision classes, our teacher, Ms Tan S.J., will revise all the Sec 3 topics previously learnt with specially prepared notes and worksheets. This is especially useful for Sec 4 students who need to revise the topics learnt previously which their school teachers, very often, are unable to go through due to the time constraints in school. Students who sign up for both the regular Sec 4 A Math and Revision A Math classes will enjoy special discount. Call us to find out more! (3) English classes English lessons at Korfton are geared towards preparing our students for tests and examinations. As part of our curriculum, the teacher, Ms Lin HC, will teach the skills needed for answering comprehension questions and summary questions. Special instructions will also be given for writing : free writing and situational writing. There will be ample work given on Paper 1 and Paper 2 during class time and as homework. We also make sure that our students taking the N level and O level will be prepared for their Paper 3 (Cambridge oral examination). All weekly homework will be marked and graded based on the UCLES (University of Cambridge Local Examinations Syndicate) marking scheme. Ms Lin, who is a former MOE teacher (NIE-trained) with over 15 years of teaching experience, had attended the marking workshop organised by MOE and conducted by the markers from UCLES. |
