A Touch Screen Head-turner

By: Mark Hirst

When one sees a wide screened phone, at a snap it'll be figured out that it is a touch screen phone. Looking at the long line of touch screen mobile phone designs, is there any among these gadgets willing to step forward and offer something different? The mobile market might just have the right soldier with the LG Kf700. Having a faÃ?ade of a 3 inch wide screen and no buttons to navigate through the features, the LG Kf700 is a touch screen phone that has a little something extra. It can be slid down to reveal an alphanumeric keypad for a much easier call and SMS function. Ever heard of the shortcut dial option? It allows a faster way to access a mostly used application on the phone without passing through folders and folders of a menu. The Shortcut dial adds up to the LG Kf700's three way input means. Talking about the "size that matters" issue, it houses the same size like those in the line up of touch screen smart phones that are already out in the market.

Its dimensions are 102x14.5mm and do not have that much challenging demands when it comes to weight. So if one doesn't have issues on having a big than the usual kind of phone, then the Kf700 might be taken into consideration. Since the LG Kf700 dons a widescreen design, it really does mean literally. It has no buttons up front. It obviously needs a finger flick to enable the controlling of the menu. Further more, the touch screen monitor can serve 240x480 pixels of images with 262k color capability. Since it is a 3G phone, it wouldn't be complete if one cannot make video calls. The camera attached above makes this possible to have a clearer view of the other person on the line. The option to navigate through touch and do text manipulations is not the only one in store for consumers who would prefer to use the Kf700. Downloading is now made faster and reliable through the programmed HSDPA technology that pumps up the true meaning of a 3G innovation. Other than that, browsing through the internet can also be done through WAP and HTML. The web browsing function gives the experience of surfing the net as that on a regular computer. Don't expect too much out of it as it doesn't support a Wi-Fi function. Music lovers wouldn't be left behind with this gadget as the LG Kf700 can house a lot of music files and videos depending on the stored expandable memory. It uses a micro SD memory card if a 90mb internal memory is not just sufficient. To add up to the entertainment part, should one be fond of taking pictures wherever they may be, a 3 mega pixel camera with automatic focus and flash is attached for that any day photo opportunity. Java games obviously wouldn't be taken out of the scene, same goes for file sharing. Connect to other users via the Bluetooth function and get to upload files from the phone to the computer or vise versa through the USB port.
