No Expense Spared

By: John Gray

Russian based mobile phone manufacturer Gresso are famous for their ridiculously expensive phones that are made from exclusive materials.? We have already had the Black Diamond and the Luna and Sol Steel collections, now we are awaiting the two new mobiles in the White Diamonds Collection.

Gresso are ready to release the Limited Edition Royal White Diamond and the slightly 'more affordable' White Diamond.? Now neither of these phones will appeal to the average mobile phone buyer, they are more aimed at the footballer or WAG market - as these are the type of people who can afford them.? Both the mobiles have hand assembled panels which are made out of 200 year old African blackwood, the keyboards have a base plate made of titanium, and their stainless steel battery cover has a magnetic lock plus leather and gold decoration.?

Of course they are named the White Diamonds as they have real white diamonds set into the 18K gold keys.? The display of the Gresso White Diamonds handsets are covered by 42K sapphire crystal glass and all the numbers on the keypad are laser cut in Roman style numbers.

The Limited Edition Royal White Diamond will have just 200 units manufactured, and will feature white diamonds on each of it's 23 keys - adding up to 2.53K of white diamonds.? It will be priced at a massive ?25,000, which makes the cost of the Apple iPhone seem like peanuts.

The Gresso White Diamond will be slightly more affordable at ?7,000 as it has the white diamonds set on just four of the keys.? The two mobiles do share the same standard specifications: GSM support, a 65K color TFT display QVGA resolution, a microSD memory card slot, 2 megapixel camera and they run on Windows Mobile 6 Standard.? Although these phones are clearly more about the style and expense than the specification or features.
