By: Navdeep Trivedi

JSR 168 i.e. Java Portlet Specification request is a standard to determine the

development of portal components. The main purpose of JSR 168 is to provide a

standard programming model for creating portlets. Portlets built upon JSR 168

standards are known as JSR 168 portlets.

Portlets Suite is a set of portlets that are ready-to-use components for enterprise and open source portals. For those who want to adopt portals certainly need

many and variety of portlets to deploy and run.

There are many open source and commercial Portlets available but JSR 168 based

solutions are rare.

SyncEx, a known name in Portal Community, exhibits a range of JSR Portlets

- PortletsToGo - , which can be successfully deployed on many JSR 168 compliant portal servers e.g. IBM WebSphere Portal, Sun Java System Portal, BEA Weblogic Portal, Oracle iAS Portal and Liferay Portal etc.

PortletsToGo contains following pre-tested, pre-packaged JSR-168 Portlets, which can be used out-of-the-box to quickly build the enterprise portal:
