This is the place where you can get cheap chicken rice at only $2 at most of the mrt stations.
The main reason of choosing is accessibilty. They can be found on many train stations.
cheap cheap that's what its all about :) Chicken rice at $2...good meal and a good deal :)
sells local delights such as Chicken Rice and Nasi Lemak at affordable prices :))
Ananas Cafe's chicken rice and nasi lemak are very affordable yet delicious.
Ananas Cafe offers affordable meals at even $2 or $1.80!
Well, everyone's favourite beehoon shop
Got this for breakfast and never fails to keep me full and satisfied:)
This is where your $2.20 can bring you. Good and affordable meals.
Good place for affordable and quick meals.
Fav express dinner before bowling class, $2 chicken rice...
My favorite 'sexy' breakfast, beehoon! :D
This noodle with sunny side egg and black sauce chicken taste very sweet and it is too oily. The egg was badly cooked with the egg yolk being overly cooked and the chicken had more bones than meat. Not recommended for anyone to try unless you are looking for something really oily to munch on. The stall sells other food but majority are too oily and unhealthy.
Looking for a budget meal? The chicken rice here (whether its the hainanese white chicken or the crispy roasted version), both are selling at merely two dollars per plate. The rice is quite fragrant and the portion is just alright for an adult .The chicken meat here is quite tender and juicy.Even though they are selling it at such a cheap price, you will not be disappointed by the standard of the food at all, except the portion may not look that much. The chilli sauce is more towards the sour version which is quite appetitzing and refreshing.Spending: Approximately SGD 2.00(Lunch)
Ananas cafe serves a variety of food ranging from chicken rice, nasi lemak, noodles, bee hoon, kuay tiao, and many many more. I bought the nasi lemak set B which consist of the fragrant nasi lemak rice, egg, sausage, fish fillet, and with their tasty chilli. In addition, i also added their tasty chicken wing to my nasi lemak set. The food were really delicious and fast to purchase.
Needed a light dinner so I decided to pack $1.50 chicken rice from Ananas Cafe. The portion given is reasonable for the small amount of money paid. The rice was a little mushy but still enjoyable. I added vegetables because there were no cucumber slices left at the end of the day. The cabbage was super oily, it made my entire packet quite oily. You can\'t enjoy eating this packet of chicken rice without pouring the chicken rice chili over your rice!
For lunch yesterday, my mum bought me Mee Goreng from Ananas Cafe and topped it up with an egg. At only $2.60, I was impressed by their generous portion. The quality of the food was good as well. There was flavour in every bite and the egg was well cooked as well. I only had one complain and that is that I found a bit of egg shell within the egg :S Other than that, the food was of above average standard. Definitely will be trying the other food out soon!
I had tried the fried bee hoon from this ananas café for quite a number of times and would really like to recommend it.(:For such a share, I paid only $1.80. The fried bee hoon given was quite a lot and it really fills. Even without ordering other dishes to go with the fried bee hoon, it taste still taste as nice by itself;D The cabbage was fresh and crispy…juicy too^^ Isn’t it really worth it that you get such a satisfying meal that is low in price;Ddelicious and cheap, worth it!(:
Had Ananas Café for dinner beside the MRT station as I was rushing home after dinner. Ordered set meal B, which is the nasi lemak. Found it abit too oily, both for the chicken wing and the rice. Could do better with less oil. I got quite sick towards the end that I could not finish the plate of rice.Spending: Approximately SGD 5
I made a mistake to order nasi lemak from Ananas Cafe. Should have order my usual bee hoon goreng or fried bee hoon. Firstly the rice does not have the nice fragrance of the usual nasi lemak. Secondly, the rice is too dry and hard. It\'s like eating overnight rice. The chicken wing is crispy on the outside but must be careful eating it or the crispy flakes on the skin can easily cut the inside of one\'s mouth. The stall assistant also choose to serve me one egg that looks so awful. The fish cake and chili is nice. Another point noted is they don\'t give cucumber to add on with the chili. Makes my meal seems quite unhealthy without even the slightest bit of vegetable.Spending: Approximately SGD 3.60(Dinner)
They have a few outlet & their chicken rice is affordable $2 for 1plate of chicken rice The portion is just nice for 1 person The rice is QQ with nice chicken fragrant Chicken texure is smooth & juicy However the sauce abit salty but for $2 still worth it !!Spending: Approximately SGD 2
As I was hungry, I ordered a mixed bee hoon noodle with chili and its tasted average. The beehoon is too dry while the noodle is too oily. It left an oily grease on my mouth after eating. The only good part about this is its chili! It’s fantastic. Once I ate the chili, it will make me crave for more and as it is very spicy, it goes well with the bland bee hoon noodle!
the chicken rice here is so cheap! the rice is fragrant and not too oily. the chicken portion is not miserable despite it\'s price and the chilli is really good, not too spicy yet garlicly enough. really worth the money!
i was in a hurry so when I alighted the train at pioneer mrt, I decided to takeaway some food from ananas café. I ordered their mee goreng topped the vegetarian zhai er. It was mistake after mistake. I should have ordered the bee hoon. The mee goreng was very gooey and sticky, not too spicy. The zhai er was not only not crispy, but it was hard to even chew. However, the thing that saved the day was the chilli sauce. It was thick and sweet, yet not too spicy.
The portion of chicken rice is rather small as compared to that of coffee shops. However the rice is fragrant. I like it, it is not too oily. Sometimes if I was hungy, I will add more rice. The chicken is tasty, quite succulent. However the meat portion is kind of little. The chicken sauce is really good. Spicy but not too spicy.
Whenever I do not have much appetite for lunch or dinner, my mother will buy ananas chicken rice for me. The portion is not quite a lot, the chilli is really good, a little spicy. It really adds a little something to the rice. The chicken is quite tender and smooth. The rice is not too oily. Most importantly, it is CHEAP cost $1.50. if you have a bigger appetite, you can eat as many packed as you want!
I had a quick lunch at this cafe that day. I did not expect much for the quality of food since it was just a cafe serving economical food. I ordered Set A Nasi Lemak and was quite disappointed that there wasn\'t any cucumbers served at all. I asked the lady and she shot back saying no cucumbers were included in nasi lemak served there. It was not good service to me because she did not even offer to give me a few slices (which I know they have because they serve chicken rice too!haha). The portion of rice was small. I enjoyed eating the crispy chicken wings and the yummy tasty chili paste together with the rice. I ordered a piece of otah for an additional dollar and it was not bad, just too small a piece for a dollar.
When I feel like grabbing a quick and light lunch, I always get nasi lemak from the mrt station before taking the train. The rice portion and variety of ingredients are small but priced at two dollars per set, you can\'t expect much. Most importantly there is a fried chicken wing in there, which is oily but crispy and good! The rice is cooked to the right texture, not too mushy or dry and the coconut fragrance is there. Remember to get the chili sauce to compliment the meal! Spending: Approximately SGD 2
The mee siam here is simply average though it\'s presentation looks somewhat nice. The assam in this dish was not very strong and most importantly, the soup tasted too sweet instead of being spicy. The bee hoon was rather tasteless by itself. Yet to try the chicken rice here, but having tasted their mee siam and mee rembus, I don\'t know if I\'ll like to give them another shot,
the chicken rice is just terrible. the chicken was so pathetic and little. there was so little meat at all with more skin than actual meat. the portion has also shrunk since the last time i ate at this place. the only redeeming factor was that the rice was hot. otherwise the chicken was really too little and not nice.Spending: Approximately SGD 2
VERY EXPENSIVE!!! wat an experience after mrn jog I took breakfast at this cafe an was I shocked at the price. My order is jus PLAIN lontong nothing else no gravy, no beancurd, no serunding(gritz coconut) and beef rending. The charge was $6.50 initially but reduced to $6.How do they justify the pricing? It\'s jus 6 pathetic thin sliced plain rice pack and 3 pieces small cut meat and absurd $6.50 for that. .Lesson learn ask for the pricing first before you making any orders.PERIOD. Spending: Approximately SGD 6.50(Breakfast)
Never am I going to eat this ever again. The gravy is pretty much watery. The green chilli is tasteless. Thank goodness the noodles weren\'t clumped in a lot but they were somewhat tough to chew on. It was not even spicy to begin with even after adding 2 teaspoons of chilli. A lousy meal
Ananas Cafe, you can find the shop at the right side once you come out from the MRT station. It\'s a small stall without seating and the queue is short. I bought a small fishball stick that comes in three. It was warm and good for a quick bite before you board the MRT.
I had a light lunch from the MRT station today. I did a chicken rice take-away as it was quite crowded and there were no seats available. For $1.50, the portion of rice and chicken is small and I expected it. I love any kind of chicken rice as long as there is the chili sauce and the sauce tastes great plus spicy! The rice was fragrant although a little mushy. You can add eggs or tau pok at an extra charge of 50 cents. It was a cheap, quick and satisfying lunch! YUM. Spending: Approximately SGD 2
Bought their nasi lemak set for lunch today. Realised they have increased their price from $2 to $2.20 recently, but sadly their portion has become smaller! Nevertheless, i still like their nasi lemak. The rice is fragrant, and the best part is their chicken wing which is my favourite. The chicken wing meat is tender and juicy on the inside, and very crispy on the outside! Its very crispy and tasty! Its so yummy!!!Spending: Approximately SGD 2.20
Must try the white meehoon. It's so nice and tasty to the bite. Best of all, they gave generous amount of filling like shreadded egg, bean sprouts and shreadded cabbages and carrots. It's so much worth for your money and you can get it for only one dollar plus, just for the meehoon. They gave big packet of the meehoon too. As for me,my stomach is filled with satisfaction and happiness after finishing the delicious fried meehoon )

It was a simple nasi lemak set. I had the set B that comprises of one fish fillet, one hot dog and one egg. The egg has been mixed and fried into a round shape and I do not think that it is one whole egg. The set costs $2.00.

The rice was not fragrant at all, with no hint of coconut milk. The hot dog was ordinary, just like what you will have at home. The fish fillet was okay but not crispy and it was a bit oily. As for the egg, I would very much prefer it to be sunny side up. But sorry to say, it was not the case. The set came with a slice of cucumber. So sad. At $2.00, it was consider quite cheap but I do not find it worthwhile at all. I will only consider it when I am rushing for time and need to grab something that is filling. Portion wise was still okay for me but might be too little for a guy.
