Yang chow fried rice is my favourite, the ingredients are very fresh.
Hong Kong-style menu of dim sum, noodles and rice dishes :))
Ordered the Dry Wanton Noodles, its came with 5 plump and juicy prawn wantons and vegetables. The noodles were al dente perfection and retained a nice bite to them.
Traditional cantonese cuisine, always pack on weekend, reservation is recommended
Craving for simple dinner, we walked in to Crystal Jade at Clementi Mall and ordered only two dishes. Coincidentally both with eggs. Simmerred seasonal vegetable in superior broth ($12.80) is a good dish on a hot day. The vegetable is simmerred till very soft, and the broth together with egg, salted egg and century egg is good in flavour.
Decided to try the Xiao Long Bao & Steamboat buffet with my friends for the first time after hearing so many good reviews about it. We had to make reservations at the restaurant two weeks before our buffet as we heard that it will be nearly impossible for us to get a seat if we were to head down to the restaurant without making prior reservations. There were fixed time slots for the buffet and we decided to go for the 10.30pm slot as it is the cheapest Even when we arrived at the place close to 10pm, the restaurant was already packed with hungry diners like us. The good thing about eating at the Xiao Long Bao & Steamboat buffet is that you get to eat an unlimited amount of Xiao Long Baos The food were really good and fresh. Most importantly, it is definitely value for money
Dinner at Crystal Jade seldom goes wrong with its consistent food standard. The restaurant was offeringdinner set meals with different selection of 2 mains. I went for the set meal of roast duck and scallop. I ordered another vegetable dish to balance the dinner with some greens. The roast duck was fat and pink. The sweetness of the plum sauce dip further highlights the duck meats and reduced the fattening taste of the duck meat. The Scallop was big, juicy and fresh. The vermicelli gave the dish a lift in texture and the sauce brought both the scallop and vermicelli together. The Spinach with 3 eggs was not only delightful in taste but sight. The egg flower on top of the spinach was simply appetizing just looking at it.
I like the xiao long bao the most from the crystal jade kitchen. The xiao long bao will always be serve hot. On the first bite, The juice inside the xiao long bao will oozed out. It is more like a soup. And, the taste of the soup in it is very tasty. It is not too salty. The meat in it is also very tender. It is best if you manage to put the whole xiao long bao inside your mouth. But, it will be quite hot...
This Chinese restaurant offers many delicious cuisines which most of them I love to eat really alot. But if i need to choose my favourite out of these dishes, I would most probably choose their deep fried fish. The fish meat is soft and juicy and the outer crust is very crispy and is in really nice golden brown colour, which looks really good in the outlook and at the same taste equally delicious as well. However price is too costly for this plate of fish which I may have second thoughts before place my order during my next visit here.
If you are a seafood lover like me, you must not miss this garlic prawns from Crystal Jade Kitchen. The prawns are quite big in size and is filled with the sweetness of it and is quite crunchy. The generous amount of diced garlic used to cook in this dish has really enhanced the flavour of the prawns which is really fragrant and tasty.Even though the price is quite high, but I believe because of its great taste and quality, I will still come back for more.
I always reckon Crystal Jade serves descent Chinese food and it\'s a good place for casual dinner, though the dishes here don\'t really have so much of the wow factor. We had the Braised beancurd with black mushroom and vegetables ($11.8). The beancurd is slightly hard on the outside, but inside is silky smooth, pretty good.Spending: Approximately SGD 20(Dinner)
Crystal jade offers all type of food now. From bread, to la mian, to all sorts of chinese cuisine. Their prices are slightly higher, but their food are tasty and of good quality. And you get to dine in an air conditioned restaurant as well. Their restaurant can get full during meal time, so be there early to avoid the crowd and queue.
Love the dim sum at crystal jade. Nice ambience & great service liu sha pao - egg filling bursts into your mouth when you sink your mouth in it. tried this dish in several places. this looks the most appetizing due to its orange hue colour and is slightly sweeter. har gaw- simple and delicate steamed pork rib- something salty to complement your mealSpending: Approximately SGD 15
Steamboat buffet at Crystal Jade is full of flavour as the different types of sauces available at their self-service bar really have make the taste of the food even better.Enjoyed their almond sauce which is thick and creamy, great to tip it with all types of seafoods, vegetables and meats.Their chilli sauce is also not too spicy and with a little sweetness to it which is more towards the thai sauce flavour. The fresh prawns served are very fresh but would be good if they do not restrict only one time serving of the fresh prawns to per person (which is only 3 pieces per person).Like their hot tea too as is thick and the glass used is tall and bigger, so we need not worried that the drinks will be finished soon.Overall experience here is quite good, only which that their service standard would improve abit as it is a bit slow.
I went to Crystal Jade, when a friend & me were shopping in Orchard & douby Ghaut. We ordered for a Glutinous meat fried rice & dumplings in hot sauce. The portions were good. It was tasty, but nothing great. The rice was just ok, the dumplings were nice as the sauce was spicy & tasty. I would rate the ambience higher then the food, as I found the food just normal & nothing extra ordinary. The staff were friendly & the prices on the menu were pretty reasonable.
It was a weekday afternoon after 1:30pm. We were able to get seats immediately since the crowd has already thinned. I decided on the shrimp wanton la mian since I realised I haven\'t tried that before. Prices have increased by a dollar or so, with la mians ranging from $9 something onwards. Anyway, it took them quite long to serve even though the crowd is gone, so that is quite undesirable. The portion of noodles is quite substantial so that is alright. However, the noodles seem to have been slightly overcooked because it is not springy and is actually a little too soft. Luckily, the wantons are tasty. The prawns are very fresh and qq, so it is a thumbs up for that.
Went to crystal jade kitchen for our lunch with my parents after school. They do provide a variety of food for us to choose from, noodles, rice, porridge, individual dishes. Certain dishes are more expensive and some are average as other places. The food we ordered taste great, fresh, and came hot. Definitely be back for lunch or dinner again!
Went to the restaurant with my colleagues. Yusheng was really good, the vegetables are fresh, finely cut, very crunchy, also there are fried yam sticks which makes the Yusheng really sweet and crunchy. However, the plate was too small for the large sized yusheng, and we spilled quite a lot onto the table while tossing. Besides that, i must say this is a must try for Yusheng fans! We also tried other dishes, such as wasabi prawns, spinach, fried kailan, roast pork, roast duck, claypot tofu, claypot chicken which are also yummy. This is indeed a good place for Chinese New year lunch/dinner!
We went all over to several places just wanting to eat dim sum but many places were only serving CNY\' s dishes and will only serve dim sum after the 8th day of CNY. We thought of this branch and was glad to find they were serving dim sum! Miss Nippon was craving for siew mai and har gou and we ordered also the gluntinous rice with chicken, fried carrot cake, fried beancurd, char siew bao and chicken feet. We were happy and contented with the food andtaste and even with a high volume of customers that day, the standard of food and their services were not affected.
went down with my lab people for the dinner buffet, since there is a time limit for the buffet, we had to be decisive and order the food immediately. although there was alot of people in the restaurant, the service was still quite prompt. since the buffet include unlimited xiao long bao, we ordered at least 20 baskets whereby each of us ate at least 10 xiao long bao! as for the buffet dishes, quite a large variety and the meats are quite fresh too. but the time limit was really a kill joy because we had to sweep the food down our throat so we could hardly savour the foodSpending: Approximately SGD 25(Dinner)
Venue: Dark little place. We got shoved in the back corner, in a tight spot, next to the dishwashing area. If you pretend it\'s not gross back there, you\'ll get by. Service: Sporadic attention. Sometimes they come to refill your tea and water, sometimes they don\'t. Inconsistent. Value: Slightly overpriced. Food: Had about 6 dishes. Nothing memorable. Except for the Peking Duck! That was great! The best out of any Peking Duck we\'ve tried, and better than Imperial Treasure! Will only go there for duck from now on! The wonton noodles were pretty good. Some dishes are overly oily and overly salty. The fried rice was ok but too salty.
It\'s been some time since I had dim sum. Walked past Crystal Jade on the way home, and decided on a whim to da-bao some hargow (prawn dumplings) and siew mai back. While placing my orders at the takeaway counter, the lovely char-siew soh (BBQ Pork Pastries) beckoned brightly from the display counters..All right, I\'ll buy a couple back too! The food was still pipping hot when I reached home.Wonderful!!We tucked into the food eagerly. The dim sums from Crystal Jade sure did not disappoint. Each piece were tightly packed with delectable prawns, minced pork, mushroom. They were firm, yet not tough.Lovely to chew on, and flavourful to savour. The char-siew soh were a joy to munch on too.Crispy exterior with well seasoned, juicy char-siew fillings inside.Hmmm....hoo-sek!!好吃!! I could keep popping these addictive pieces into my mouth!!Just lovely!! Spending: Approximately SGD 13.40
I love porridge and most dim sum restaurants do served good porridge that they normally called it congee as the texyure is smooth and thick. My favourite at Crystal Jadeis the Fish Belly Porridge and most people don\'t like the the belly part for they afraid that it might be fishy. As for me, I\'m brought up eating mostly every part of the fish and therefore am happy they have this in their menu. Honestly, I\'ve tried many times even in their other branches too and there was never a problem, just be extra careful with the bones if you ever were to try it. Today I was exceptionally hungry and ordered a chicken glutinous rice in lotus leave along with the porridge and I cleaned up everything! Yum! PS - There is a 10% off Citibank card promotion for this month.
Steamboat buffet is just okay. If you\'re an avid steamboat buffet lover, you shouldn\'t go for Crystal Jade\'s. However, as for myself I love it. The only thing that I hate is their free flow of Luohan fruit drink which is so stingy. Other than that, the food for steamboat are okay. Quite a lot and made me full actually. Eat with family to enjoy better the steamboat atmosphere.
The fried rice was apparently too oily for us, or else the taste was great. The siew mai, ha gao, pan fried carrot cake were good, nothing extraordinary. The pork liver porridge was really special with the pork liver cut in such big piece size. The "liu sa bao" - custard filled buns were the best dish of the day, the color of the buns stunned us when they are put on our table. We were joking that the color was such because it was halloween! As seen in the photo, the custard was really smooth and great! It oozed out when I took my first bite on it.
This promotion has been going on for some time now and I finally have the chance to give it a try. The promotion is to order a set meal, which consists of 2 items, and have a choice to order another item out of the 4 choices for only $1. Of course we\'d order the third item for just $1. For the set meal, we chose the steamed fish and braised duck. The fish was very fresh and I liked the sauce very much. The duck was braised with yam. The duck meat was quite tough, but has absorbed the gravy nicely. For the $1 item, we chose the prawns with salted egg. The serving was obviously smaller, but for $1, it was still worth it. The prawns were fresh and crunchy, and the salted egg gave it a nice sweet and salty coating. Overall, it was very worth the price and delicious definitely.
went there to eat with my parents during father\'s day, since is a sunday so expected the place to be crowded but didnt wait too long since we went there early. the food was ok, typical crystal jade stuff but somehow i dont really like their dim sum, the taste just not that good and not to my preference. service was still ok at this outlet but one bad thing was the restaurant designs. i dont really like to dine with lot of pipes lying openly above my head. the decoration for this outlet was abit sad but i guess if just for a fast meal then shldnt b too particular abt it Spending: Approximately SGD 25(Lunch)
Went there for dinner with friends. We had ordered shredded chicken noodle, Deep Fried Dumpling With Salad Sauce, Yang Zhou Fried Rice. The noodle is very Q and I enjoy chewing it and slowly enjoying the Q noodle. The sauce they put on the noodle is not too oily so I don\'t feel so sinful when I have them. The fried dumpling was very nicely done, fresh and the salad sauce complemented it well. The fried rice was not done quite well with certain parts being overly dry while others undercooked. The generous serving of shrimp is a good. As for service, it varies. Sometimes they were very helpful and good, but at times, especially when the place is packed, their service standard drops. The food is average but it quite pricey.
We had family gathering over there Their steamboat have various choice to choose from & the ingredient is very fresh Their meat ,they sliced in thin pieces which is very tender and chewy Their broth is very clear & refreshing Unlike some other steamboat, they added in a lot of MSG,so after eating will feel very thirsty, but crystal jade won\'t They never fail to disappoint me !!
First time trying out this Crystal Jade outlet. Quite big and spacious and nice interior decoration compared to most of their other outlets. Ordered the Simmered Chinese Spinach with Assorted Eggs in Superior Broth. This dish is up to standard and tasty. A generous serving of century eggs, salty eggs and normal eggs. Broth not too salty and just nice to taste. Braised chicken with chestnut served in claypot is not as good though. The gravy is ok but chicken is not well marinated and no taste at all. Chestnuts also not cooked till soft. However i like the long beans with minced pork and shrimps. A bit spicy but at least the minced pork is well marinated and long beans are fresh and crunchy. Fried mackerel fish with salad is not a well combined taste i think. Luckily they provide a sauce for the fish. The sauce actually save the dish i think! Spending: Approximately SGD 17(Dinner)
Went to this chinese restaurant. We were served with peanuts when seated. Ordered their yang chow fried rice at $10.50 per plate. It comes with generous amount of prawns and char siew(chinese bbq pork) and egg. We requested for plain water and we were not told that it costs thirty cents per glass and we only knew we need to pay for it when we call for the bill. We also ordered stir fried clams with preserved vegetables and chives. It was quite salty and need to drink more water in order to reduce the salty taste. We add $3.80 and can get a drink and a dessert which we ordered the red bean cake. Overall experience is fine.Spending: Approximately SGD 15.50
It\'s funny how some people only orders certain dishes in certain restaurants and the same goes for me when I dine at Crystal Jade Branches. I love coming here mainly for their congees and normally order their century egg or sliced fish ones but I stumbled upon their sliced beef congee by chance one day when I wanted to try out something different.. What a great discovery - the congee was smooth as usual and the sliced beef was tender.. Great Comfort Food.
This is one of the Crystal Jade Branches where I love to come for Tim Sum on weekdays for a late lunch... when most of the crowd disperse back to their usual work day.Not too sure why but I find the Tim Sum here better than some of the other Crystal Jade branches.. maybe it\'s the ambience and quiet moments of the late afternoons!Great food and shopping at Parkway thereafter always brightens up the day, especially towards a greater evening ahead!
Fresh ingredients are served to go along with the nice soup base.Simple but satisfying. My verdict" 6.5/10
1. jus to recommend this dish, crispy & tasteful outter layer, soft and smooth inner tofu..bite size makes this a perfect snack. done perfectly to spice up your meal at CJK. 2. spicy long bean- fried with special chilli with small dried prawns ("heh bi") ..full aromatic taste accompanied with the crunchy long beans, pleasing textures to my mouth.. abit too oily thou. waitress service is good too. find that seats n tables are too close to one another. but this is understandable as rental are high these days. look out for the special promo in the restuarant and with the banks for more deals
Crystal Jade has been known for delicious Chinese dishes. It is a good opportunity to reward our stomach for lunch after a hard day in school. Further, there is this double and triple deal promotion ongoing at the moment. There was 4 sets of each to choose from. There was 6 of us so we ordered a double deal and a triple deal. Double deal is at a special price of $26.80, the usual price being $32.80. It consists of half roasted duck and steamed scallop with golden mushroom, Vermicelli and Crispy Garlic (4 pieces). I thought the roasted duck was superb with crispy skin and tender meat. The juice squirts into your mouth when you bite it and the meat has that nice salty taste. The duck comes with a sweet orangey sauce and personally I think it tastes better without dipping the sauce. The scallop is nicely steamed and it is very tasty as it absorbed the fragrance of the garlic. The serving of the scallop is too little. Triple deal consists of steamed tilapia with special spicy sauce, baked prawn with salted egg yolk and Dried Seafood with Assorted Vegetables with Casserole. It costs $36.80 and the usual price is $42.60. The steamed tilapia is very fresh and sweet. The meat is very tender and it goes very well with the sauce. But the sauce can be salty if you placed too much on ur fish. For the baked prawn with salted egg yolk, the salted egg yolk taste seem to be seperated from the prawn. If you remove the skin and eat the prawn, it does not have much taste. The skin on the prawn makes it a little troublesome. The assorted vegetables is nicely cooked and the vegetables are all very crunchy. Overall, this makes a very good meal for 6.
Went Crystal Jade @ GWC for lunch this afternoon with my colleagues.. Lunch was "fantabulous" and all of us enjoyed it. We ordered a lot of food today and i feel "obligated" to recommend some of the highlights: 1.Rice Roll with Shrimp - Best Rice Roll that I have ever eaten in Singapore. I love the soft, smooth texture of the rice roll wrapped around the sweet shrimp and drench with tasty sauce. It just "melts" in my mouth. 2.Plain Noodle Soup - Simplicity is the best... Springy noodles with green vegetables in hot pork bone broth taste awesome. 3.Baby Kailan with Oyster Sauce - Fresh, Juicy, Crunchy and Healthy.Yummy! 4.Ginseng Soup - What a nourishing n rejuvenating soup! This is a "must try" soup. Very flavourful, chockful of ingredients. The stock is pretty powerful, almost like chicken essence. 5.Mango Pudding - Sweet delicate smooth texture. The delicate flavour of mango pudding makes it a popular finale after every meal.
This steamboat buffet price is not expensive and the serve fresh veg and meat. Their service is good and the waitress there is helpful too. Only there\'s no much seafood in this buffet so too bad for seafood lover. Do try out the food here !! 3.5/5 stars !! Price for adult : 18+++ Children :12+++
I really love crystal jade carrot cake which I have forgetten to take a picture before I eat. The carrot cake is so soft and smooth. Although it does taste like it contain some lard in it but the taste is so great that I couldn\'t be botherabout the extra pound that I will put on after eating. The zhu chang fen is also another must try item. It is smooth and the sauce is just right. Love having breakfast with my familyat this place.
After trying so many wife biscuits that is also known as "Lao po bing" in the market, I personnally find that the ones that Crystal Jade my bread sells is still the better ones. The texture of the inner fillings was just nice and smooth, the sweetness is also very balanced. The pastry is quite flaky but good. Overall, the wife biscuit is more similar to the version that I had tried before in Hong Kong. Must give it a try.
Crystal Jade Kitchen @ Suntec is tucked away at the basement, on the same floor as Kenny Rogers. This Crystal Jade outlet also sells dim sum and la mian. However for the latter, you won\'t be able to choose the type of noodles preferred. We ordered various dishes, xlb, la mian, the chinese red bean pancake, fried pork ribs and many others. The xlb was same and consistent like the ones at other la mian xlb Crystal Jade restaurants. The la mian however tasted different, it had a stronger vinegar taste and was saltier as well. The chinese red bean pancake was soaked in oil and the pastry used wasn\'t the usual standard one but instead, I suppose it was the same as the ones used in wrapping popiah. My verdict of it? Weird. I didn\'t want to try the fried pork ribs as they looked really dry but tasteless but my friends commented that against its visual appearance, it was in fact very oily but still tasteless. Overall, service was alright. Nothing fantastic but at least they greeted and refilled our chinese tea.
