Installing blinds is pretty simple and straightforward, without any complicated steps involved. It does not matter whether you are male or female, or what age you is.
The first step, even before making a purchase, is to take measurements of the window where the blinds will be installed. You will require these measurements for the proper fit when it comes to the height and width of the blind. If your calculations are incorrect, you could end up with a blind that is either too wide or too long. Once you have all of your measurements, then it is time to purchase your brand new blinds.
The installation process is the next step now that the blinds are home.
Before you start putting brackets up and creating holes in your walls, get a pencil. Now hold your blinds up at the exact spot that you want them to hang. Use the pencil to make a very light, very small mark on the wall where the brackets will go, on either side of the blinds. This will help guarantee that the brackets are installed in the right spot at the right height, so that your blinds look and fit perfect. Now get your hammer and screwdriver out, because these come into play during the next step.
Wherever you made your pencil marks on the wall is where you are going to attach the brackets. Three or four small screws are used to attach the brackets to the wall. There are times when the screw won't go directly into the wall so just take your hammer and tap the screw a couple times to get it started and then continue using the screwdriver. The brackets must be lined up exactly where your pencil lines are so that the width of the blinds is accurate. Remember to have the open side of the each bracket facing the front so that the blinds can slide into the brackets easily.
Once you have installed the brackets, it is time to install the blinds into the brackets. The blinds should slide easily into the open ends of the brackets, so that they are held in place. Once this is done, use the small piece and slide it into the open side of the brackets, locking the blinds in place and improving the looks of them.
Your brand new blinds are now installed and ready for you and your family to admire. Just think of how you installed them all by yourself and without any assistance from a professional.
