i went to gelare at vivo city to redemn my groupon voucher. I ordered the macadamia nut flavor ice cream. The deal was to serve the ice cream on their waffle cone. Their waffles cone is really good, very crispy but every time you bite into it, the crumbs fall all over the table, making it a little messy. The macadamia ice cream was really good, the macadamia flavor was pretty strong. It was not too sweet as well. However the ice cream did melt pretty fast but it was good.
As I was walking around vivo with my girlfriend, she suggested we head for some tea to rest our tired legs. As we were just outside gelare, we headed in to grab ourselves a cone. We share a cone cos their ice cream is pretty large. We ordered the Oregon mint fudge flavor. The cone was very warm, I guess it was freshly made. however because of the heat from the cone, the ice cream melted pretty fast. The ice cream taste really good, very rich in flavor and creamy. I love the minty flavor of it too.
Mango Sorbet from Gelare at Vivo City. Gelare had lived up to its "smooth and thick"promise. Had it at only 50 cents per scoop as they are having a promotion for these flavors, mango sorbet and raspberry sorbet. I thinkit tastes not bad but my friend love it very much. Anyway it is quite a good dessert to chill out on a sunny day and and have a small chat with friend.
Tuesdays is Gelare half price waffles day. From slightly over 4 dollars onwards, you can get a waffle (chocolate chip ones are nicer but cost more). Scoops of ice cream can also be added on top. And you get a choice of whip cream and chocolate sauce or maple syrup on top. However Gelare at vivo was highly disappointing because the ice cream was melting slightly and I caught sight of a customer watching the server scooping ice cream with a disgusted expression because of the sloppy state of the ice cream. And the service staff was very rude, when we enquired if the half priced waffles were still available, she told us to “look by yourself”.
Went over for dessert after our meal. We had the waffle with ice cream. It was really a perfect combination. The hot and crispy waffle, with cold and tasty ice cream. Even better when eaten together, the hot and cold combination. I really love the waffle with ice cream here and will definitely be back for more!
Went for dessert with my friend. Ordered the Half a waffle with Tiramisu Ice Cream, whipped cream and Caramel Sauce. The waffle was fresh from the oven and very crispy even after with all that topping. The caramel sauce complemented the tiramisu ice cream well.
It\'s also a great place to hang around.
Galare @ Orchard Central is one of the best place to chill out with the comfort sofa and casual aura the cafe provided. The waffle ice cream is one of the selling point there. With around more than 10 choice of ice cream to choose from, there is a choice of chocolate or maple syrup to compliment the dessert.
It is definitely sinful, but it worth to order. go on tuesday for half-price waffle~
