About Us

MY FITNESS - A cozy boutique pilates fitness studio and our experience trainers are here to tailor make your individual fitness needs. We use certified and internationally recognized training programs and our special rehabilitation system to not only help you recover from your injury but also to bring you back to an optimum fitness level.

We work together to make you look good and feel good. Here we believe in "Balancing your mind & body to be fit".

THE FOUNDER

Ms May Yang, Founder and Director of My Fitness, is an accomplished dancer, choreographer, stage performer and fitness instructor.

May began her early full-time Diploma dance training in Chinese folk dance and choreography in China, GuangDong Dance School from 1990 to 1997 before specialising in modern dance, ballet, jazz, choreography and Pilates at LASALLE.SIA college of the arts in Singapore between 1997 to 2000. She excelled at LASALLE.SIA by winning its Outstanding Student Award in Diploma of Dance and a prestigious Scholarship Award for Performing Arts in Degree from 2000 to 2004.

Her passion for dance and fitness then took her to Australia, where she attained a Distinction in Bachelor of Dance with Honours at Queensland University of Technology. Thereafter, she pursued a full-time Pilates teaching course with the leading Pilates Institute of Australasia in Sydney and subsequently broadened her teaching repertoire with certifications in classical ballet, body combat course, yoga, aerobics and boxing.

Her experience in dance and choreographic performance is also extensive, having performed with the New York Ajkun Ballet Theatre, Ellen Sinopoli Modern Dance Company (New York) and Sydney Dance Company among others. While concurrently honing her skills, she has been teaching a wide range of Pilates, fitness exercise and dance classes in Singapore, performing in leading fitness events around the country.

May's mission is to impart her rich and diverse experience gleaned over 20 years to optimize the personal fitness levels of her students.

Pilates Reformer
(only Group PT or One to One PT classes)

The reformer provides finely tuned exercise resistance that allows one to work very precisely to develop good alignment, core strength, coordination, long and lean muscles and flexibility. Reformer exercises can be done lying down, sitting, kneeling or standing on the carriage giving you the workout that you need without putting unnecessary stress onto your joints. It also helps relieve stress. It includes the use of Pilates chair, magic ring, foam roller and reformer machine.

Pilates Matwork

It is an education in body awareness. It works the whole body in synergy, teaching one how to move on a daily basis. It strengthens the core and back muscles, and helps to improve one's flexibility, posture, body alignment and coordination. It uses DYNA band with flow routine. Compared to traditional pilates matwork, this workout is more challenging. Intense conditioning focusing on the body's power house: abdomen, back and rear. Executing flowing movements by control, concentration and breathing. (Play with different gravity of routine.

Yoga

Smooth flow of yoga postures. Improves flexibility and promotes relaxation.

Essential Dance

Signature MY Fitness style workout that combine many sexy dance movement to different styles of music. Improves flexibility and sense of rhythm. Specially for women. If you want to look sexy and improve your confidence, join us!

Trx Workout - Latest workout

New and highly effective training program to develop and strengthen the limbs and core muscle. Involves standing, sitting and floor routine. It's a total body resistance exercise. It builds strength and improves flexibility, balance and core stability all at once.


Abt+

Body conditioning of your Abdominal, Buttocks and Thighs. Improves strength and endurance.

Adult Ballet

Prance like a prima ballerina. This class explores the essence of ballet set to classical music for all ages. Moderate impact and intensity. Beginners to intermediate level.

Belly Fit

A class combining traditional belly dance moves with aerobics. Get an all-round workout and do the hip shimmy with style while toning your upper body with sexy moves.

Body Sculpt

Kids Ballet

Ballet for kids from age 3 to 12. Start as a young ballerina. To improve body alignment, posture and rhythm.

Kids Fit

Kids' gym exercises. Basic stretching jumping steps mixed with kids' games, and with boxing movement high intensity class to improve your kid's body strength.

Latino Jam

Combination of latino dance and aerobic styles. Focusing on hip movements and footwork. Good for fat-burning with hot Latin music.

MY Body

Focuses on abdominal, buttocks and thighs. Turbo-charged aerobics to improve cardiovascular system. Combine with the use of DYNA band for stretching and strengthening of the muscles.

Power yoga

Consists of a dynamic flow of asanas (postures) combined with powerful breathing exercises that works the body, breathing and mind. Builds strength and endurance for a slimmer, stronger and more flexible body.

Sexy Belly

Modern belly dance incorporating sensuous body coordination. Focuses upon isolating different parts of the body, moving them independently in sensuous patterns.

Vinyasa

This yoga class consists of a powerful series of flowing and jumping movements. Great for cardiovascular system. Benefits include detoxification, balancing of the hormones and reducing one's weight.
