Great sashimi and sushi for good value for money. The salmon and chicken karage also suits the kids. Interior deco a bit off, though. But we went for the food😃
Went to sakae sushi for their sushi buffet again as its worth the price. Those sushi are really very nice.
This chawan isvery nice.
The steamed egg is really very soft,And the ingredient inside is also nice.
I also like the awesome octopus sushi.
It is very tasty!!
Crunchy and chewy octopus with dono what gravy.
The udon is also not bad.
And the sashimi is fresh and it really taste nice when eat with some wasabi.
This egg omelette sushi is well like by my whole family. As it is really easy to eat, soft in texture, and even the really young group like my four years old nephew likes it very much too.Roll with a thin layer of seaweed which is best to taste with the sticky firm japanese rice and also with the egg omelette. It may look small, but the taste and the filling power of this sushi is really great too!Dip in some wasabi and japanese soya sauce will be more delicious!
Sakae buffet a nice dinning choice for a big group of friends to seat down and chill together. the service there is good as the people there is fast and speedy. you can order cooked foods, jap noodles, chawamushi and other sushi that is not ready to take. Though the price is afforable and the service is good, however the standard of the food has drop as compared to the past.
service was prompt and we were quickly seated. the service staff was kind enough to give us our privacy for a fair bit of chatter before tending to us again for orders. casually, we asked for the hot green tea, and did the rest of the orders via the digitised touch screen menu.curry tonkatsu rice
I always like Japanese curry. The flavour is thick and rich even it is not very spicy. The tonkatsu is crispy and tender too. I can finish the whole bowl easily!!
Sakae Sushi is one of my favourite place with my favourite food! It is really healthy too (depending on what you order of cos xD) The colours of the plates are nice for photography and I like the idea of stacking the plates. It is a fun experience with your family and friends. I had fun eating and snappning photos as I like the presentation of the food as well.
With so many outlets in singapore, Sakae Sushi is one place to visit to have your fix of sushis. I always liked ordering unagi sushi, tuna and spicy salmon sushis.
Was back at Sakae Sushi after awhile and they changed their menu quite a bit, increasing the prices for some of their food, booo. For example, their soft shell crab sushi wrap is no more $2.09. Nevertheless, I still had it and it tasted just as great! I also ordered their tempura prawn ramen set. The soup was really well brewed, very fragrant and tasty. The ramen was just as good, long and soft. I really enjoyed the tempura prawn, although they were left aside for awhile while I had sushi first, the batter was still crispy and the prawn inside succulent. Yet another good experience at Sakae Sushi.
At the airport we are spoilt of actually spoilt of choices as there are many options for lunch. We can choose to have Italian, Indian or even local. It has been a while since I last have Japanese so I asked my colleagues to go to Changi Airport Terminal 2 Sakae Sushi for Japanese.
I personally like to sit beside the converyor belt to watch the plates of sushi going by and pick up what I want to eat. I hate to sit away from it and order as ala carte. That is the fun of going to sushi train restauarnt is it
Came here for lunch on a lazy weekend. Was surprised to find the outlet not as crowded as we expected. Was glad to find that there were vegetarian options available too!
Edible rice paper was used for the vegetarian sushi. It was individually wrapped and contained cucumbers, carrots lettuce and mangoes. It was simple but tasted amazing. 9/10
Vegetable tempura was basically assorted vegetables (which came in a variety) which were covered in flour before being fried. They tasted crisp and went well with soy sauce 8/10
Potato Koroke which is one of the best dishes here. It contained potatoes as well as mixed vegetables. It was very crispy on the outside and left a very distinct taste. This can be compared to hash browns 9.5/10
The tofu here was succulent and was dipped in terriyaki sauce. It was a simple dish that left a lasting impression.
It is nice to find that the restaurants in singapore and finally having a couple of vegetarian options even when it comes to a sushi outlet.
I last ate at Sakae around one month ago and just yesterday, I went there again since my daughter has some sakae vouchers which are expiring soon. For the fun of it, since we always did not order the inari, we decided to order all three types of it from the fish roe to the egg to the crab mayo. It looks really colourful and tastewise I preferred the crab mayo the most since it is sweet tasting and it is complementary to the inari which is also sweet tasting. The fish roe is also not too bad as well. However, I still preferred the normal sushis and not the inaris since the normal sushis taste better with wasabi. I find that pairing inari with wasabi ruins the taste.
Whenever I feel like i have been constantly having oily and unhealthy food for almost one whole week, I would try to have a lightly meal which one of my favourite choice is the sushi from Sakae sushi. The sushi here are really fresh and really like the texture of the japanese glutinuous rice used in their sushi which is very soft, moist and really fragrant.I like a few types here, which includes the egg omelette and the crabstick. The egg omelette is really thick in slice and the egg fragrant taste really good. The crabstick is fresh and full of the sweetness from it.Simply so good!
I went to sakae sushi with my girlfriend for dinner after shopping at the flea market. It was pretty crowded, guess by the shoppers from the flea. We had the sushi buffet, but I guess because it was a weekend, the price was rather pricey. The sushi they served there were very fresh. One thing about sakae sushi is they are very generous with their toppings. We both are crazy over the salmon sashimi sushi and the crabmeat mayo sushi. We also ordered their chawamushi, okonomiyaki, takopachi and other sushi. I guess they specialise mainly in sushi cos their okos and takos were not really nice. it was more flour than ingredients. Their takopachi was not soft and chewy unlike those you find outside. However I must commend them on their chawamushi, it is so smooth and tasty. Their sashimi is really fresh too. Love the mayo they mixed with the crab meat, very light and refreshing.
This is not a bias review, but i\'ve been asked to change seats twice (just because i went with my mother) and initially, they let us sit at a 4-seater place, and we had to move around like chess pieces when people were queuing outside. Bad service.
Food take so long to come, and also keep on giving wrong order. We order deep-fried scallops, but they kept sending us other sushi items which turns out to be either the first table we sat on or the second table we sat on.
If the workers are so confused or tired, they should take a break!
Food didn\'t taste as good, we waited about 35-40 minutes before they finally arrived. The waitress gave attitude.
Anyway the place is so squeezy. don\'t go there if you are going with one other person, they probably only serve those people with big groups. Spending: Approximately SGD 15(Dinner)
Sakae Sushi is a generally reasonable restaurant to feast on some sushi and ramen noodles when you feel like having japenses food! Their conveyor belt system of sushi gives you a choice to have sushi immediately once you are seated and conveniently order other dishes through their computerised system right at the seats. I enjoy eating their fried softshell crab sushi roll and their chiwanmushi. The softshell crab is fried very well and is still crispy when served. The piece of meat is quite big and goes very well with the egg roe and mayonnaise within the seaweed roll. Their chiwanmushi is also another yummy dish that you cannot miss out. It is served very hot but the egg is set very well with a great texture! The ingredients inside include mushrooms and crabsticks.
service was prompt and we were quickly seated. the service staff was kind enough to give us our privacy for a fair bit of chatter before tending to us again for orders. casually, we asked for the hot green tea, and did the rest of the orders via the digitised touch screen menu. somehow, we were on the same chapter, and decided to try out some of the SOP sashimi & sushi. all that we picked were colored & red plates and had our fill.
These fried vegetable fritters is one of my favourite choice when I place order at this restaurant. It is really colourful as it includes shredded carrots, sliced egg plants, chopped french beans in it.Even though this dish looks simple, but every individual vegetables which you tried will have their own unique taste. It is really crispy, but even if is a deep fried dish, you will still do not feel so sinful as it is still \'vegetables\' after all.
the sushi here is nothing great but the size is generous. not very much variety. not very cheap either. especially not after the GST and service charges. the staff are not really available except to bring out your food which order on the computer. your tea is a tea bag in a cup which you can refill with the hot water tap at your table. the seating is spacious. you have everything you need on your table. but the sushi doesn\'t taste fantastic. in fact it tastes rather bland for some reason...
another average sushi place. conveyor belt system. there is also a computer at your table for you to select what you want so you don\'t have to get the waiter. but that must have malfunctioned because they brought food to our table that we did not order but they said came from our computer. there is a hot water tap to refil your green tea which is a tea bag in your cup. the computer system is interesting but it doesn\'t seem to be accurate. rather over priced after the GST and service charges. the sushi wasn\'t that great tasting but the size was generous.
Not only wide ranges of su shi tastes great at Sakae Sushi outlets, I personally also love to eat their deep fried items as well, especially their deep fried potato puffs. These potato puffs are coated with a thin base of bread crumbs before proceed to deep fried. The outcome of it is really smooth and soft inside and very crispy and fragrant on the outer surface. With some Japanese sweet sauce pour on it, this is really a very nice snack which you may want to eat it on its own or even with some rice and noodles too.
After school lesson, we always love to pay a visit to sakae sushi and enjoy the sushi buffet. As we are still below 21 years old, we are consider as youth and the price per youth is about $20++ after included a glass of green tea and the taxes.Every person can order one pink plate and one red plate. The sushi at sakae tasted nicer compared to sushi king for me.
I always love to visit Sakae Sushi as they sell quality Japanese food which are in affordable price.Kani Chawanmushi ($1.99): My favorite dish which I will order whenever I\'m dining in Sakae Sushi. The egg custard was steamed with soup and is really soft enough. The taste are really great with the slices of crab sticks in it.It is best to eat them together.Tempura Udon ($10.99): The udon with soup comes with fried breaded prawns (tempura in japanese). It is a really big bowl of udon which will makes you full. The soup of the udon taste plain, but it is still delicious. The tempura is very nice, it is not very deeply fried so it is not that oily, so it is a very good combination for the Udon and the Tempura.
I went there for dinner & was quite disappointed
The food standard have changed, not as nice as the past but price keep on increase
I ordered their soft shell crab,it was so tiny ,Their sushi was not very fresh, service not very good,i asked for some tissue, but the staff who was not singaporean totally don\'t understand & told me they don\'t provide tissue to customer
overall i rate 5/10
Went to sakae sushi for their sushi buffet again as its worth the price. for youth its $18.99 (without tax), which is now more expensive. i could remember last time the price is $13.99 for student. but its still worth it. We get to choose one pink plate, one red plate and unlimited plates of colour plates.
buffet for youth $18.99 ++
The okonomiyaki is nice, there are even octopus inside.. whereas the takoyaki is not so nice.. The salmon karake is very nice when eaten hot, as the salmon skin is fried crispily, and the salmon is quite fresh. but when they are cold, the salmon is quite greasy and oily. This red plate of sushi is unagi sushi, and we are quite disappointed with it. or maybe its because we are already very full.
Today we sudden have a feeling of having japanese food,so we tried sake sushi,
It had been a long time since me & wife come here for lunch,
I find that the standard have drop, service was not very good,there\'s not much customer, but manager never bother to guide us in,just told us to walk straight & will see the table,
Table was quite dirty, they never clean it well
,staff was so unfriendly, never greet nor smile while taking order,
I ordered this chicken set for $11.90,last time was only $9.90
The chicken was very hard,a bit disappointed,my wife ordered some side dishes like
Soft shell crab, the crabs was so small,i remembered last time whenever we ordered soft shell crab,it will served with the soya sauces, but this time they don\'t
I was really disappointed by the service & food here,i don\'t think i will ever come back again but will try their other outlet
Is it pretty hard to see a veggie friendly jap restaurant and so glad to have chanced upon one. This is one of the few sakae sushi outlets that caters to vegetarians
Rice Paper Maki "Veggie Sushi" : This was created by a genius. The sushi is infact made of rice paper wrap. Ingredients included carrots, cucumbers, mangoes among others. It looks like a real sushi, very pretty! tastes amazing- 9/10
Potato Koroke: This is another one of my favorites. Its somewhat like a potato cutlet. Crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. It contains mixed vegetables. The dish was very well cooked and tastes excellent with soya sauce 9/10
There is another dish that contains rice and is wrapped in a beancurd skin. It\'s one of the nicest beancurd options available. Not sure what its called but its amazing! It does not need to be ordered separately as its usually on the "moving trays beside the tables" 9/10
Royal Chocolate: One of the nicest dessert options. Chocolate was rich and melts in the mouth 8/10
Cheese Mochi: I couldnt wait to try this dessert! It was pretty hard to cut through the mochi. The cheese in it was creamy and light. A nice way to end the meal 8/10
Fried Tofu: Nothing spectacular about this dish and I am guessing this is silken tofu as it crumbles very easily 7/10
Vegetable Tempura: This is really crispy and contains all kinds of vegetables. One of a kind 8/10
Japanese Green Tea: This is indeed not Japanese! tastes like seaweed; quite gross. I have bought authentic Japanese green tea and this cannot stand as comparison.
I decided to get the Sakae Card right after the meal!
Its the weekend again! I went to Bugis with my love and had our lunch in Sakae Sushi. Japanese food is my all time favourite. So i ordered this Sake Deluxe Bento. It comes with prawn, chawanmushi, unagi and etc. While my boyfriend ordered Salmon Bento. He had always love salmon. It was a happy lunch and the foods were yummy. Sakae Deluve Bento costs $18.99 adn the Salmon Bento costs $8.99.Spending: Approximately SGD 15
My girlfriend and I both drove to park mall sakae sushi for the sushi buffet. we went to the nearby branches but they do not have the buffet anymore. Mostly only had ala carte. After searching online, we found the nearest branch that had buffet was park mall so we headed there. We both were very famished and I finished about 20 plates of sushi. My favourite was the salmon sashimi sushi. I reckon I ate at least five plates of that. The salmon was so fresh and it went so well with the rice and wasabi. We tried their fried tou fu. It was really good. The tou fu was crispy on the outside and soft and smooth on the inside. The gravy for the tou fu was really tasty. We also ordered their takopachi balls. It was very small but was really good. We were grateful the portion was quite small so we could try other food. the okonomiyaki was great too, I strongly recommend it! As a whole it was really satisfying, very worth it to eat the buffet if you are a large eater.
It has been a while since I went into Sakae Sushi and I find myself back there for lunch one day. Together with my daughter, we ordered sashimi to share as well as their udon. I love the sashimi served that day. It seemed especially fresh and sweet tasting. The wasabi also seems to be more potent and I enjoy dipping the sashimi into the wasabi. We overordered, so we ended up having to ask them to pack the sushi for us which they did so without questions asked even though it was only two plates of sushi, and they also provided us with the packet wasabi and sauce. Great service there!

i went there yesterday to have my buffet, and the variety of Japanese food they offer, is so wide! there are over 20 dishes and each of them gives you a different sensation. furthermore, it\'s so cheap and you can have all the sushi, salmon and dishes you want! also, their service was so good that i can\'t help saying that it is one of the best!

We went to send relatives off at the airport so before that we had dinner at Changi Airport\'s Sakae Sushi with them. We ordered sushi and ramen. Their ramen is awesome. Love their soup and the weird large spoon they provide as cutlery. I had terriyaki ramen noodles. I nv changed my order whenever i decide to have ramen at sakae sushi. the terriyaki chicken is soft and tender, the udon has a soft and smooth texture. the soup is pleasant, not very salty for me.
We chose to go ala carte because I think it is more worth the money than the buffet. We can order red plates and even noodles, whereas buffet is mainly restricted to the basic sushi and those on the conveyor belt. The colours of the plates are nice for photography and I like the idea of stacking the plates. It is a fun experience with your family and friends. I had fun eating and snappning photos as I like the presentation of the food as well.My favourite is the chawamushi. I had 2 to 3 cups of them I remembered. It was served in a nice cup and it is always warm, never cold. Love the taste and the ingredients inside. They have a few flavours, but all of them are nice..
I went to sakae sushi with my daughter for dinner the other day. I was surprised to see that they have changed all their computers to ipads. I think it was a good idea as the mouse was pretty troublesome and only one person can used it at a time. Now that it is touch screen, it makes it easier to place an order. We ordered a number of sushi, the fish egg one was a must. I just love their fish eggs. Cannot get as tasty ones as theirs here. The fish eggs are very crunchy and when you bite into it, it is very juicy. I ate at many sushi places and the shoyu at sakae is one of the nicest. It goes well with all the sushi.
I went to sakae sushi with my hubby and son for dinner the other night. Pretty amazed at the variety of sushi and other side dishes they had. I am a fan of temaki. I remember the last time I ate the soft shell crab temaki, it was still the price of a coloured plate, now they have seemed upgraded it to pink plate. So I opted for the fried salmon skin temaki instead. I ordered 2 of it, the salmon skin was fried till very fragrant and crispy. They added quite a lot of shredded cucumber in it too. On top of that I ordered 2 plates of fried toufu. It was deep fried till very fragrant. The exterior is crispy, interior is soft and smooth.I also ordered the okonomiyaki, it turned out pretty small but it was really good, love the sauce they drizzled on top. They also had takopachi balls too, all coloured plate price. we were all satisfied with the food.
Octopus sushi
Another thing that I like the most in Japanese cuisine is their octopus. I have no idea what sauce is that but it really tasted nice with the crunchy octopus. Eating the octopus alone is a bit salty so I always like to have it with sushi rice. Awesome and you should try this out.Sakae sushi\'s shashimi is also nice, fresh and tasty. Must dip it with their wasabi, their wasabi is always freshly processed.
I love to eat sushi. This chawan is nice.
The steamed egg is really very soft,And the ingredient inside is also nice. This fried prawn is nice too.
It is crispy, and it taste nice when dip with little soy sauce and wasabi.Dono the name of this. What i can say is,it is nice to eat too.
A bit sweet and salty. The sushi from sakae is always fresh,i really enjoy to sit beside the rolling sushi.
It is really fun.
Sudden craving for shashimi so we went to sakae sushi for the fresh salmon and tuna shashimi. The shashimi is really fresh and tasty. And I love their wasabi, tasted fresh and like just processed. We have not cure our craving for shashimi after eating there so we even take away sakae sushi\'s yu Sheng. Their yu Sheng is a bit expensive but the ingredient given is really in big portion, ESP the shashimi.
I always go to the sakae sushi with my family, their sushi and side dishes are nice!! i love the friedgyoza and hotate and the ebiko sushi.~ fried ebi is veri nice!! their teriyaki chicken are not bad too. And the mocchi which they serve last, is so nice and soft. Sugoku Oishii!Spending: Approximately SGD 80(Dinner)
The last time I was at this restaurant, I tried the moshi ice cream! it was chewy on the outside and the ice cream was creamy on the inside. it was so good that I had to order another one! This time round, I decided to try the Green Tea Ice Cream. I have always liked green tea hence I was looking forwardto see how it went with ice cream.
The ice cream was served within a few minutes. However, I was utterly disappointed. I found the flavor of green tea way too strong for my liking! it had a very seaweed-fishy taste to it which I detested. It was not exactly sweet either.
Service wise, 8/10. Staff are very attentive and they try to bring your orders to you as soon as possible.
I would probably stick to their famous moshi ice cream
green tea (Y)awesome octopus sushi
Very tasty!! Some not dare to try this red thing but it is actually very nice!
Crunchy and chewy octopus with dono what gravy.chawanmushi
The egg is sooooooo smooth and fine and sweet with seafood flavour.
They is some mushroom, veggies and shark fins in the egg filling.salmon and tuna sashimi
This Sakae chawanmushi is flavourful, a delight to the palate and worthy of the price paid for. There are mushrooms as well as japanese fishcakes which are tasty and coupled with the chawanmushi, which is soft and smooth, makes this dish declicious. The portion given is not too large and is suitable as an appetizer before the main dish to warm up your stomach first. The environment is suitable for chilling and enjoying a good meal. However the service is a little slow since it\'s lunch hour.Spending: Approximately SGD 2.99(Lunch)
This teriyaki chicken udon is a disappointment The soup is not flavourful and tastes a little bland. There are only a few pieces of teriyaki chicken given and is not worth of the price paid for. The teriyaki chicken tastes nice and flavourful though. There are quite alot of udon in this dish but the udon isn\'t too nice too. The environment is suitable for chilling and enjoying a good meal. However the service is a little slow since i waited quite long for my udon.Spending: Approximately SGD 10.99(Lunch)
it wasnt too long ago when i promised myself to write sakae sushi off my list of places to dine, but my saturday date thought she wanted to give it a try. on seeing that they\'ve revamped the decor, i thought yeah, let\'s give it a chance to redeem its place on my list.
service was prompt and we were quickly seated. the service staff was kind enough to give us our privacy for a fair bit of chatter before tending to us again for orders. casually, we asked for the hot green tea, and did the rest of the orders via the digitised touch screen menu.
somehow, we were on the same chapter, and decided to try out some of the SOP sashimi & sushi. all that we picked were colored & red plates and had our fill.
in summary, i\'d say that there\'s been some improvement in the quality of the rice, while the cuts of the fishes erased my past horror.
I was very surprised that the quality of the sushi is so bad. The ambience and the "technology" is fun but otherwise the quality of the food is not very good. You can choose to order from a computer next to the table. There is a hot water tap at the table too. The "green tea" is very disappointing as it is NOT Japanese green tea. It is China green tea. The sushi available wasn\'t impressive either. In the end, the food and drinks were not worth the price at all. And they do not serve coffee! Sushi Tei is much better.
i went there yesterday to have my buffet, and the variety of Japanese food they offer, is so wide! there are over 20 dishes and each of them gives you a different sensation. furthermore, it\'s so cheap and you can have all the sushi, salmon and dishes you want! also, their service was so good that i can\'t help saying that it is one of the best!
Apart from having the belts sushi at Sakae, i also like to eat their ramen. It was in a generous portion which is the reason why i could not finish the whole bowl haha. I ordered the Kimuchi Ramen with kimchi in itThe ramen is not very spicy, like the kimchi soup tastes the meat they served is good as it did not have too much fat in it. As for the noodle, i would say is ok, not too good if wan to compare with ramen restaurant like ajisan, but is still tastes delicious in an overall.
After my graduation thing in Expo, T3 was the place to go after a poor snack buffet served after.
Not knowing anywhere else, we saw the stair sticker from afar and headed to Sakae Sushi afterwards for a pipin\' bowl of ramen, to commemorate that its somewhat like a birthday after all, but far more important! It was my diploma after all hard earned, and after almost 5 hours of starving in the ceremony, good food is what I needed and flavorful broth is the best cure to any rambling tummy.
Ordering the standard sliced pork ramen for $14, I quickly dug in as there was the egg waiting! Sadly of course, SS is not the place to have your ramen fix as hello, Singapore got tons of original ramen places that just keeps on popping up, but the least to say that noodles were cooked al dente, broth was not as thick and flavorful (but hungry anyways) and vegetables were decent.
When the bowl came, it wasn\'t has hot as I expected as it was freezing cold from the expo and in the airport, so I asked for a reheat and I bet it was microwaved and not pot heated. If it was an original Japanese-head resto, I would get a lot of freebies from this. Japanese courtesy I adore! HeheSpending: Approximately SGD 16(Dinner)
this round another group of friends and i had main courses!
the fried pork cutlet.. with grilled fish with tiny mushrooms.. mini sashimi with sweet prawn
with chawamushi.. and miso soup
my friends had ramen with fish cake.. shoots.. veges and braised beef~
the other had unagi ramen.. with boiled egg and vege..
both were nice~
sakae sushi buffet with friends for supper~
we had a huge variety of sushi.. especially non rice items
good for us big eaters!
ranging from fried.. to steam.. and more~
sadly sometimes some item are out of stocks..
and of course i do hope to see improvement
its worth for student price for normal days..
overall worth it
Whenever I think of sushi, I will think of sakae sushi. I love going to their buffet be it lunch time or tea time. However the way they classify their customers seems a little different. For normal buffet places, they have this catergory for student where you flash your student pass and get a discounted price. For sakae sushi, they do not have the student catergory, but they replace it with a youth catergory where the maximum age is 21 to enjoy the discounted price. Guess they wanna be different. Other than that, their sushi are great using very fresh ingredients. Yum!
I had fun eating and snappning photos as I like the presentation of the food as well.
My favourite is the chawamushi. I had 2 to 3 cups of them I remembered. It was served in a nice cup and it is always warm, never cold. Love the taste and the ingredients inside. They have a few flavours, but all of them are nice..
Chawanmushi
The egg is sooooooo smooth and fine and sweet with seafood flavour. They is some mushroom, veggies and shark fins in the egg filling.
Sakae sushi lunch buffet! suitable for all students! Been to the outlet at dhoby gaut, their cha soba, takoyaki and chawanmushi is awesome! service is normal but food is EFFICIENT! within 5minutes you get what you ordered! Great place to hang out for a buffet lunch!
Decided to dine in at this outlet for our sushi buffet dinner as this outlet is not as crowded as the other outlets in town and since it was on a friday. Ordered a lot of sushi from the menu and had fried hotate, fried tofu, chawanmushi etc. Service was also quick though the only downside was my fried tofu took quite some time to come. Drinks were not included in the buffet but you are able to eat one pink plate and one red plate in this buffet. Would strongly recommend to eat the tea time buffet as i feel that the dinner buffet is kind of expensive actually.
I really like sushi..!!!
Especially the octopus.
Last time,i thought octopus is very disgusting,so i dont dare to eat.
But my friend keeps recommending to me,so i try it..!
It is really nice..!
It is very juicy and flavourful.
The other sushi is also nice, but it is just normal, same as other shop one.
The chawanmushi is also normal.not very nice.
But i really enjoy it,especially the egg one.
It is very smooth and soft,it is softer than jelly.
The mushroon inside really mix well with the water steamed egg.
The crab meat one is also nice.I like the crab taste,it is very fresh.
Sakae buffet a nice dinning choice for a big group of friends to seat down and chill together. the service there is good as the people there is fast and speedy. you can order cooked foods, jap noodles, chawamushi and other sushi that is not ready to take.
Though the price is afforable and the service is good, however the standard of the food has drop as compared to the past.Spending: Approximately SGD 25(Dinner)
Sakae Sushi is one of my favourite place with my favourite food! It is really healthy too (depending on what you order of cos xD) My favourite is the tamago and egg mayo sushi roll! It comprises of a generous portion of egg mayo which is high in omega 3 and egg, my all time favourite sushi!tempura prawn sushi with egg sheet wrap
Alright, I really like this place mainly because they cater for vegetarians too. I never expected this etanary to be veggie friendly, especially since its basically a sushi restaurant but how wrong I was. There are a couple of really decent sides for vegetarians. These include the tofu sides, tofu with mushroom sides, mushroom tempura sides as well as one other side which was the vegetarian version of sushi! The veggie\'s were fresh and the fruits they included into the wrap made it sweet. It tastes more appetizing then it looks! credits to my boyfriend for the suggestions
used to like sakae cause their sushi were quite nice but as the year passed the standard drop A LOT especially the ramen, i tried once and was shock at how lousy the noodle was so seldom visit the restaurant now. but recently went there to eat with some friends and notice they added some stuff to their menu and include some set meals. the price are quite expensive, average about 20 bucks per set but the good thing is the portion is relatively large so will be filling. and this outlet is not pack even during peak hour so dont need to worry about finding seatsSpending: Approximately SGD 25(Lunch)
I like to eat japanese food.
Sakae Sushi is one of my favourite japanese restaurant.Ocha is one of a must drink to drink in the japanese restaurant.
This time, the green tea change to brown rice tea.
Taste abit different.
A bit of smoked taste, really nice.I like the fragnance. This bean is very fresh.
But i feel very embarrass when i ate this.
Now i only know the way to eat these beans.Octopus,tako..!
tako sushi is very nice..!
it\'s juicy and nice to eat. This octopus i better than the previous one.
More juicy.
The octopus is very QQ,chewy and fresh.
The vege is also fresh.i like to eat the octupus with the vege. This time, maybe of too many customer. This ramen is underated.
Last time,i felt this dish is nice, but now,i just feel that it just normal.
Nothing special. The soup is also abit salty.
But the mee is quite soft and smooth.
Smoked Salmon cheese
the smoked salmon is flavourful and a bit salty but overall nice. tasted well with the cheese.Ikura Chawanmushi
The egg is sooooooo smooth and fine and sweet with seafood flavour. They is some mushroom, veggies and shark fins in the egg filling.awesome sushis!!

Very tasty!! Some not dare to try this red thing but it is actually very nice!
Edamame bean ($2.29)
Boiled green vegetable soybeans in the pod.
Sakae sushi has increased their price!!
A colour plate is now $2.29 instead of $1.99
A pink plate is now $4.29 instead of $3.99
A red plate is now $6.29 instead of $5.99
And the buffet also increased for about $2 for each category.
But anyway, I still love Sakae Sushi!
appetizer: Edamame bean ($2.29)
Boiled green vegetable soybeans in the pod.
At first i thought this whole thing can be eaten but my friend told me that i should only eat the beans inside. My yummy octopus!! ($6.29)
Very tasty!! Some not dare to try this red thing but it is actually very nice!
Crunchy and chewy octopus with dono what gravy.Kimuchi ramen ($11.99)
Tasty kimchi flavour soup broth with chewy ramen and other ingredients.
Always a nice place to eat dinner which is less crowded than shopping malls.
Ordered a Chicken Sukiyaki and a Hanabi bento.
The chicken sukiyaki is a hotpot with vegetables, tofu, chicken chops, and some other vegetables like mushroom, carrots, onions. The soup taste very nice. However, u need to wait some time for it to be cooked. So if you are hungry, ordered something light first.
The Hanabi bento consists of a fried chicken, steam egg, lobster meat tofu, fish and fried tempura. It comes with a bowl of soup and rice as well. Everything was very nice except for the steam egg where the roe taste expired. Was very impress with the fried chicken, one word, "yummy".
Overall, we came out very full for a two person. Pretty satisfied with the dinner.Spending: Approximately SGD 43.60(Dinner)
Sakae sushi is one my my favourite places to go for sushi. They have cheap buffet prices and also a wide selection of sushi to choose from. The only thing I dont like is the japenese tea they stock, There is a strong burnt smell to the tea that I do no like. My favourite sushi is the salmon avocado. The sashimi is fresh and thick. Simply delicious!
Had sushi buffet at Sakae sushi. Yum!
SHIOK big big juicy spongy chewy poppy fish roe!!
Omg!! The fish roe were so big in size and they look so tempting i feel like biting them one by one until they rupture and explode in my mouth. The seaweed has some roasted fragrant taste ans tasted nice with the Japanese rice.tempura ebi
The tempura is crispy and flavourful. best served when hot.
Very authentic, just like what I ate in Japan! the soup base is made from chicken( good choice for people who doesn\'t like pork). It is clear and not too salty. The ramen comes with a piece of cha shu and an egg. The cha shu is well marinated and melts in your mouth. For meat lovers, there’s an option to add more meat. Service is good or rather efficient. I got my food shortly after i made my order despite the large human flow. Having mentioned that, do come earlier so you don’t have to starve while queuing!Spending: Approximately SGD 16(Lunch)
I love Japanese food, especially the soft shell crab handroll, The crisp hot soft shell crab when combined with the rice plus seaweed tastes simply good. Sometime I found it not hot at all. However. the plates of sushi that were on the conveyor belt were disappointing. The rice was rather dry and it didn\'t taste good at all. Felt like it was on conveyor belt for a long time. I like their beef don. The gravy was great. Sometime the beef came out quite difficult to chew. Overall the food was average.
tempura vege
The tempura ( Japanese battered fried stuff ) is very crispy and flavourful coz it is hot served. The vege is fresh and sweet too so the sweetness can still be tasted even after they are fried.curry tonkatsu rice
I always like Japanese curry. The flavour is thick and rich even it is not very spicy. The tonkatsu is crispy and tender too. I can finish the whole bowl easily!!
Came here with my friend for lunch. Their food is average. I like the Fried Tofu as the skin was really crispy and the tofu was very soft. (Though I don\'t quite know the difference between that and Agedashi Tofu.) However, the plates of sushi that were on the conveyor belt were disappointing. The rice was rather dry and it didn\'t taste good at all. Felt like it was left on conveyor belt for a long time. I ordered the teppanyaki beef too and asked for it to be done medium rare. However the beef came out plain and very difficult to chew. Chicken Cheese katsu was mayb a bit on the salty side but it was cheesy and nice, so no complains.I can always count on my Agedashi Tofu to be delicious, nice and firm and the sauce is always the best. Not too salty and goes well with wasabe.
Service was good. Overall a good experience.
Soft shell crab handroll
Sudden craving for sushi so I headed to Sakae Sushi for lunch.
the soft shell crab is very crispy and fragrant!
The rice is very perfectly seasoned and cooked with the tasty nori (seaweed).
Although I was having lunch here, but this two handroll already make me 80% full.
Sakae Sushi is one of my favourite place with my favourite food! It is really healthy too (depending on what you order of cos xD) My favourite is the salmon and mango wrap! It comprises of a generous portion of salmon which is high in omega 3 and mango, my all time favourite fruit! I love the unagi roll too! Sushi is awesomeness!

chawanmushi (which is steamed egg in Japanese)
The steamed egg is smooth and fluffy, served better when hot.
The steamed egg is full with the seafood broth flavour, very tasty.
There are some stuffs on top and at the bottom of the cup such as mushroom, crab meat, prawn and etc.
When you enter into this area, be prepared to see plenty of sushi choo-choo ing your way around the table ;) I like eating food with some form of entertainment, and it\'s fun how you can pick your sushi off the belt, and I like it when they serve the specials too, like salmon sushi or soft shell crab ones. Yum! Price isn\'t so cheap, but it\'s a great place to chill out with your friends (Tip: You can order more sushi but pay less when you\'re with friends haha!)
Another buffet @ Sakae Sushi Toa Payoh wth 5 of my Secondary School friends. Each of us had to pay for $18.99++ .The menu was extensive and we can choose EAT-ALL-WE-WANT from the belt except for the red plates (1 time). Since young, I did not like to eat raw fresh fish such as Salmon. Therefore, I only ate Jellyfish, cucumber, egg and crabmeat sushi. OYISHI (YUMMY) Especially the Jellyfish Sushi, I cant stop myself from eating it. It was fresh and it tasted marvellous.
Other than that, we ordered Chiwamushi, side dishes (Toko Yaki, fried Tofu, Cha Soba, Okonomiyaki) and some hand roll sushi. The Chiwamushi should be well praised, it was steamed perfectly and it was soft and tender when I tasted it. As for the side dishes thumbs up for everything, I love Toko Yaki the most, there were sotong inside and myannoise was spread around it. Although, most of the side dishes were fried, it was not oily and everything was served\' Hot\' All the sushi was well presented as it was rolled nicely with right proportion of Japanese rice and ingredient.
After we have finished our food, we were all given a cup of mango ice cream to enjoy It was really an affordable buffet and one\'s could really filled up their stomach for a long time. There were many foods to choose from and individually can eat as much as they could.Spending: Approximately SGD 25
Assorted sushi
the sushi coloured plate is $1.99 each.
Pink plate is $3.99 each plate.
I love the scallop sushi and unagi sushi a lot!!
The tempura prawn is crispy and tasty too.
I like to choose my favourite sushi from the sushi belt, it\'s so interesting.
Sushi is always my favourite so i enjoyed dining here.
Assorted sushi
the sushi coloured plate is $1.99 each.
I love the crispy breaded fried scallop a lot, esp when served hot.
Salmon sushi is my another favourite, i like to dip it with soy sauce plus WASABI!
I like to choose my favourite sushi from the sushi belt, it\'s so interesting.
Sushi is always my favourite so i enjoyed dining here.
The standard of sakae sushi have dropped !!
They used to have nice sushi but now it just tasted " SO SO"
The green tea was so blended, tasteless
Their sushi seaweed was soggy, not crispy
The only thing that is still the same was their "soft shell crab"
Crispy & soft .However the size of the crab have decreased
but price increased !!
Sakae Deluxe Bento (18.99)
My friend ordered the deluxe bento which look so deluxe and there is 6 dishes to go with rice.
I feel tempted by the chawanmushi and fried ebi, they look nice.
Salmon Don(8.99)
I ordered the salmon don coz I love salmon very much. The salmon given is generous in portion, but only with salmon that is a bit plain. Anyway the salmon is fresh and the miso soup given is tasty.
Spending: Approximately SGD 15(Lunch)
Ikura handroll
Omg!! The fish roe were so big in size and they look so tempting i feel like biting them one by one until they rupture and explode in my mouth. The seaweed has some roasted fragrant taste ans tasted nice with the Japanese rice.Awesome salmon sushi
The salmon is so fresh and of good quality. You can see the lines of the salmon flesh clearly and the colour makes it more luring. Perfect and my favourite sushi!!Chawanmushi
The egg is sooooooo smooth and fine and sweet with seafood flavour. They is some mushroom, veggies and shark fins in the egg filling.
I love and missed the cold noodles. They have it like 5 years ago or something. It is very thin and white noodles. The soup is clear and brown. I think it is miso soup. In the soup there is some seaweed. The noodles are very Q and the soup is very refreshing. However, I think the serving is a little too small.
I have no idea why they do not sell this noodles any more. Every time I would looks out for it when I go to Sakae. It is great to eat on hot days.
Chawanmushi!!!!
A variety of sushi and wide range of japanese food is what Sakae Buffet offers to its customers.
At only 17 ++ (After adding GST), you get to eat all of this! There\'s also student price for the buffet, making it more worthy for the money you spent!
However, it was rather disappointing when i visited the city hall\'s outlet. The sushi was abit hard and it doesn\'t taste really good. I know sakae sushi\'s standard wasn\'t there at the outlet, because when i visited other outlets for the previous times, it all tasted okay.
Maybe it\'s just the city hall outlet.
And you must try the chawanmushi at sakae sushi because it\'s the nicest i\'ve ever taste.
Sakae Sushi has become a common name for sushi. Mentioned sushi and the first place that comes to mind should be Sakae Sushi. Founder being a Singaporean, the more we should support Sakae Sushi so that they can continue to expand their business globally. Unfortunately there\'s no buffet dinner available here and so I felt it was quite expansive as we ate a lot of plates. Another point noted was that this outlet is seriously lacking in manpower. We ordered our juice with the waitress and it take ages for her to deliver to us. Also, they keep bringing the wrong items to us. Even those that we did not even ordered.
Currently they are promoting a juice from Sjora Mango juice so we did not order our usual unlimited hot green tea. It\'s refreshing and nice.
Crabmeat chawanmushi was fantastic. It was fresh and delicious! I tried their lobster salad sushi as well. I love it! The texture of the mixture was really great. Scallop and abalone was the best dish of all. It\'s really fresh, abalone was soft. All in all, we had an enjoyable food and time!
Passed by the restaurant while going for spa treatment with friends so decided to pop in. Place is elegant and the food presentation is good.
We ordered Salmon don, which costs about $7.99, curry beef udon, a pink plate sushi and a kid\'s meal which is a train set with fries, sausage, teriyaki chicken and some meat balls,We arrived at about 745pm but business is quite good as the place is packed with people. The colored plates there costs $1.99 and pink plate is $3.99. Food is quite fresh as the salmon don is raw salmon but does not have any fishy smell and the salmon is firm and fresh. As for the curry don, the beef is well cooked and not tough or raw. Kid\'s meal is well presentated and even have broccoli to encourage kids to eat more vegetables. We spend $47 for 3 persons.Spending: Approximately SGD 18(Dinner)
I thought i had my last visit to Sakae Sushi\'s outlet at Toa Payoh when i found bones in my sashimi and blood from my gum as the fish bone got struck.Because the restaurant\'s manager came and apologised and waived the plate of sashimi,i went again and my last straw was the outlet was stuffy during my five visits, only coolness comes from the fans which must be blown directly at you but with limited set of fans,i cant really enjoy my meal.
Nevertheless,i still visit Sakae Sushi\'s outlet at other locations and especially because they serve the best Niku udon and tasty sushi rice fill with vitaminsSpending: Approximately SGD 20(Lunch)
sakae sushi used to me my fav ,i find that their standard started to drop
food was not as nice as last time
usually i will go to kovan & sengkang outlet
i love their kakiage ,is cheap & nice
but sometime\'s is a bit soggy, not crispy at all
& everytime i go,the potion was difference
during my last visit, waitress served us the plate of soft shell crab,it was super mini size,we was quite shocked, luckily manager walked pass & help us to change a new one
overall i rate 5/10Spending: Approximately SGD 20(Lunch)
Had dinner here with hubby. Being a weekend, as expected it was crowded. We sat at the counter.
I used a voucher for the Teriyaki Chicken rice. We ordered additional salmon sashimi, soft shell crab tempura, kani chawanmushi and various types of sushi picked from the conveyor belt.
The rice was ok, quite big portion and the Teriyaki chicken was good. Salmon Sashimi and the other sushi types were not cold. It made me think that the items may have been sitting on the conveyor belt for quite some time. Next time we\'ll order directly from the server instead of picking from the belt, but then that would kinda take the fun out of it right?
Was disappointed by the soft shell crab tempura as it was very oily and greasy. When I bit into it, the oil actually oozed out and it was quite a bit of oil. Perhaps the oil wasn\'t hot enough when they fried it...
The so-called kani chawanmushi was a laugh. I thought it would be similar to Sushi Tei\'s version with real crab meat strips. haha it turned out to be CRABSTICK pieces! Won\'t order this dish ever again.
Overall a slightly below average dining experience. Was quite good for people watching though! Saw old uncles with young Vietnamese/Chinese women, middle-aged men ogling the women, typical local families dining out.
For the price we paid, about SGD20per person(excluding the voucher for Teriyaki Chicken Rice), it is far too expensive for the quantity and quality of the food.Spending: Approximately SGD 20(Dinner)
my favourite sushi at sakae sushi is the fried salmon skin. it is very crispy, topped on the soft rice, you can actually hear the crunch! i love to dip it in wasabi soya sauce. the salmon skin is not too dry till it chokes you, so i really enjoy this dish.
my friends and i could not decide what to have for dinner so we headed to sakae sushi for some sushi! we waited quite long to be served to a table. when we got there, our computer was spoilt, so we had to always wave down the busy waitresses to take our order. everything was okay until my soft shell crab sushi came. the crab was cold and no longer crispy, i wondered how long they left it in the open. it did not taste fresh as well. so disappointed! and by the way, i think the place needs some renovations too!
This is the egg sushi which taste havenly. You can taste the freshness of the sushi from the seaweed, its so crispy and the egg on top is so soft and sweet. It matches perfectly together. This is on the children\'s menu, firetruck. It serves a variety of food. Itincludes an egg sushi, fish roe sushi, fried chicken, french fries, ebi sushi. The chicken is fried till golden brown and the chicken does not taste hard. Even the french fries is fried till crispy. This is called the unagi . It also includes eggs in stripes and taste perfectly with the rice. The unagiis very fresh and there is no tinge of fish smell. However there are bones, so be careful still. This dish includes a chawamushi, sashimi and chicken and curry. The sashimi is fresh and the curry also taste nice. It goes well with the rice and the chicken too.
The service is very friendly and the environment is clean and beautiful. Its great for gatherings and celebrations too.Spending: Approximately SGD 15(Dinner)
It was a pretty warm day and i didn\'t feel like dining out that night. My mother went ahead and ordered a take-away from sakae sushi at century square - tampines.
She got me the teriyaki chicken rice bowl and miso soup, which i love! The teriyak chicken was deliciously seasoned and packed with loads of seaweed!
Fresh sashimi salmon slices, a squeeze of lemon and some wasabi... what can go wrong?
I love how the salmon sashimi from sakae is fresh and thick, unlike some other restaurants with really thin and miserable salmon slices.
The service here was pretty good, the waitresses were nice and polite and the ambiance was pretty nice as well.
My and alot people\'s favourite japanese buffet place. The photos are just two of the many dishes they have because I was too busy snatching and eating the food.
Sakae is the cheapest japanese buffet around with both quantity and quality. They gives you choices of 1 red plate (sashimi or other $5.90 dish) and 1 pink plate (sashimi sushi or other $3.90 interesting dish). All the other $1.90 dishes are for you to take!
Thats like over 30 or maybe even more dishes there! I love sakae !!!!
My favourite dish is their Fried Salmon Fin. The meat is so good and I love how crispy the skin are as well.
It\'s a must to go there if you haven\'t go before! I think I go there every year at least more than 10 times?
Went to sakae sushi again! this time not having buffet but didn\'t order ala carte food. haiz, should have eat the buffet which is more cheap and worth it..unagi temaki & soft shell crab temaki ($1.99 each)
the seaweed (nori) used were fresh, and have some roasted flavour. I like the unagi, quite well grilled and seasoned. the crab shell is crispy. but it\'s a bit plain to have just one ingredient and rice inside.mango, salmon and avocado sushi (pink plate $3.99)
I like the three combination of ingredients on the sushi. nice and bright colour matching, and it\'s quite nice taste too. the mango is not very sour, but when eat together it just add a tinge of sourness to the overall taste, which is quite refreshing. all the 3 ingredients used were fresh and of good quality which is what i like about SakaeSushi.
Sakae Sushi, a popular Japanese chain restaurant that can commonly found island wide. This time for dinner, I had a few selections from the conveyor belt as well as the menu. I had a cha soba, 2 soft shell crab hand rolls and a pair of raw salmon sushi. I like it that they serve cha soba in color plate\'s serving. Most Japanese restaurants including food court Japanese stalls serve them in full main course portion.
It was another lazy Sunday. Spoilt for choice, my friend and i decided to have a simple dinner at Sakae Sushi at the City Link Mall Link outlet.
I ordered the black pepper beef bowl, but was really taken aback my the amount of black pepper in the dish! The meal wasway too spicy for my liking, due to the fact that the chef overdid the black black pepper.
This is the Beef udon bowl I order from Sakae sushi~ the soup was just average for me, but I simply like it~ the udon was quite soft in texture. And the beef they served were too little for me. But I think it is worth well because my sister had actually purchase 50% off voucher for the beef udon~ so it only cost about $5~
On mother\'s day, I brought my family to sakae sushi to eat because my mum likes to eat sushi, but didnt get to eat that often.
Will go back there again!
Not only you can dine in the restaurant,a wide range of sushi packs are also available for take away as well.At four dollar and seventy cents per pack , you get to enjoy six pieces of different of range fresh sushi. If you a fan for the raw fish, six pieces of raw salmon sushis are also available for this promotion pack as well.Simply delicious!Would be good if they can also provide complimentary wasabi for every sushi packs purchase. My verdict: 7/10
I remember the first sushi restaurant I’ve been to was sakae sushi. Was totally amazed by the conveyor belt thing, well, that was very long ago haha. Anyway, love their ordering method. So efficient and fast! And kind of hygenic too as your food is prepared as you order it. Their buffet is also very worth it! Absolutely love their sushi!
With so many outlets in singapore, Sakae Sushi is one place to visit to have your fix of sushis. I always liked ordering unagi sushi, tuna and spicy salmon sushis. Together with the wasabi, i will devour the sushi in one mouthful. The spicy salmon sushi is not very spicy - and note that the salmon is raw. When i first ordered it, I didn\'t know it is raw but i still enjoyed it a lot since i can love sashimis as well.
Had sushi buffet with friends during holidays. We enjoyed the sushi and were soooo full. the buffet is $13.90 for students with one pink plate, one red plate and unlimited takes of coloured plates.Unagi Sushi
the unagi was well marinated and grilled !! and sakae serves it in quite a generous size.spicy octopus with lobster salad maki
the surface of the sushi is coveredwith chillies powder and so it\'s quite spicy. on top there is lobster salad which taste awesome. and the sushi is wrapped with octopus.Tempura ebi sushi !!
Tempura ebi is always my favourite. Esp when it is just fried and serve hot. the crispy skin of the prawn is so tempting !!Ebi tempura[fried prawn], salmon and mango maki with a lil\' fish roe on top which colours/lights up the whole dish.. the combination of salmon, mango, ebi tempura in sushi is perfect. Awesome looking too. Gonna try this again.
In general, I usually like the taste of Chawanmushi as the steam egg is soft and tasty. The chawanmushi served in Sakae Sushi tasted average as it was a little salty. The smoothness of the steam egg was still reasonable. It costs around $3 per serving. I feel the price is average as most places charge around this price.Spending: Approximately SGD 3(Lunch)
The Maybank credit card enables diners to eat at Sakae at a price 1 for 1. Having just received the card, me and a couple of friemds decided to make use of the promotion. We decided to have our buffet lunch at Hougang Festival Mall. The place was quiet and peaceful.
We immediately tucked in to their wide array of sushi. W each had a free red plate and a pink. Being sashimi lovers, we ordered the fresh salmon sashimi as our red plate. Each slice of sashimi was thick and tender. Every bite was delicious! One of my favourite sushi at Sakae was their salmon avocado sushi. This unique combination was really mouth watering! They used raw salmon mixed together with avocado to bring about a refreshing a delicious tasting sushi. Other dishes included edamame, chawanushi and a whole wide variety of tasty sushi!Spending: Approximately SGD 12
I strongly recommend people to try this fried tofu from Sakae. It tastes awesome much! It\'s crispy and hot in the inside. The sauce is sweet and yummy! I think it comes in two pieces, I must have eaten one before I realised I haven\'t take a photo of it. Tofu tastes good already, and now they make it taste even better. A must try in sakae. If only i know how to cook it.

P/S:
Open Rice says this to me:
"Because you have submitted review(s) about Sakae Sushi in last 30 days, this new review will listed as a related review to the following review, and we will take the average of the scores from the reviews."
But you know what? I just can\'t stop thinking about Sakae sushi, so I would definitely go and visit again and again! Will post it soon if i try something new *wink*
Had sushi and some small bites for dinner. Love their salmon sashimi served with an ice pack. It is fresh, cold and juicy! Okonomiyaki is wonderful too. It is hot and crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, topped with mayonnaise and sweet sauce. Also had chocolate ice cream for dessert, It is nice and there\'s hearts in it too. Cool...
It was time for lunch again and my friends and i decided to dine at Sakae Sushi for the Sakae Buffet !
I was quick to order the Soft shell Crab Han droll in Sakae Sushi, which was my favorite hand roll, hands down. I like how the soft shell crab was battered to give it the crispy, yet maintaining its flavor. I also enjoyed the Japanese mayo they added to the hand roll, and the shredded cucumber provided a refreshing taste!
My cousin gave me a lunch treat at Sakae and the food is rather good! I ordered chicken ramen and shared a plate of fried tofu with my cousin. The noodles are nicely done and the soup is also very tasty! My favourite will be the tofu! Beneath the thin layer of batter, the tofu is really smooth and silky. The sauce is also very yummy and complements the tofu very well! Thumbs up for the tofu!
Sushi!
I like the sushis! It\'s the nicest among all the other shops. [anyway i only tried a few Japanese shops so maybe there is nicer one but i don\'t know..] Being a sushi lover I can eat more than 10 plate in a stroke. but due to $$ constrain, I can\'t.
I should have tried their buffet which is consider quite worth it.. $13.99 per person. But my friends say during buffet time the sushi on the row is few, only few type of choice. And I always eat those in red or pink plate one [which is more expensive] so I think the buffet can\'t satisfy me. Seafood Kimchi Rice
It is serve on a hot stone bowl so it still remains its warmth. The dish is fully covered with stuffs, you can barely see any rice in the bowl. Hmm.. why I eat korean food in Japanese restaurant? I just wanna try it coz it looks delicious, and it tastes delicious too! But it has not much kimchi flavour, those who don\'t like kimchi can try this too.Curry Katsu Don
Common Japanese foood. The curry is fragrant, and the katsu [Breaded Fried Chicken] is crispy and tender. This dish come with a bowl of miso soup too, not too salty, my friend who doesn\'t like miso soup find it nice too. Overall nice, but too common for me. I like to try new things Kimuchi Ramen
Again kimchi food. I just simply like kimchi and spicy food. And I find this nice too! it is not too spicy, and the noodle is thin type, and they are cooked to just perfect, not too soft or hard. I almost finish the whole bowl of soup, crazy right?
beef was tender and mushrooms crunchy and chewy! a delight to have with the sweet terriyaki sauce!
however, as you can tell from the picture, beef was a little too bloody for my liking. i do enjoy my beef slightly medium done in steaks, but for a dish that is supposed to be barbecued, the beef was too raw for me to accept.
always having their sakae sushi buffet at other outlet , this time round tried their curry katsu don , i can say its not bad however the sauce is a little salty , other than that everything is fine. good service price is average for restaurant market rate.
My friends and I went for the Sakae Sushi tea time buffet (3-6pm) last month. For people under 21, the tea time buffet is $13.90++ which is pretty affordable, since each plate costs $1.99++ already. The buffet includes the ice cream and also one red plate($5.99) and one pink plate($3.99).
Basically, it is just stuffing yourself silly with sushi and also other $1.99 items like the chawanmushi, and side orders like fried tofu, tako yaki etc etc. The fried tofu is delicious when eaten hot, if not the crispy skin will become soggy. Chawanmushi is ok pretty normal. Although the buffet includes one red plate and one pink plate, we actually didn\'t really find those premium plates more tasty - perhaps we ordered the wrong red plate, like for instance the Uni sushi (a red plate as pictured). It is really quite awful tasting, at least for us, due to the inherent taste of the fish. As for the pink plate, one of it was the hoate mentai maki, which is fried scallop with roe and cheese. Also normal tasting. The plus point is that they provide ice-cream which is great for people who wants dessert no matter what.
In short, the buffet is ok for the price and could be better if we knew what premium plates to order.Spending: Approximately SGD 16
I love to have my food piping hot! At Sakae Teppanyaki, I get to see my food cooked right in front of me and get to taste it immediately! For the lunch set meal, there are 4 different main courses to choose from and I picked the seafood one. It has a large piece of salmon, one huge scallop and 2 yummy prawns! To go along with it, you can choose to have plain rice or to top up a little more money and have the garlic rice. A complementary salad and a plate of fried vegetables is also included in the set meal. The restaurant also serve a good portion of the food and will be able to satisfy your appitite!Spending: Approximately SGD 20
Was meeting with some friends at Plaza Singapura to prepare some food for a gathering at one of our friend\'s house.
This is a kiosk outlet which cater for takeaway order. In front of the kiosk, there is a wide selection of sushi for you to choose from. As usual, one of my friend always like to get sushi party tray from sakae. The sushi are then choosen and packed nicely for us!
Most of the sushi are rather nice, not too bad and quite fresh actually.
Having a CNY potluck at a friend\'s house. So one of my friend bought a sushi party tray when she passed by city link when she is around that area.
Wow, the sushi party tray really look so tempting with around 50pcs of sushi! Most of the sushi are nice and rather fresh. But I especially love the dragon roll, california sushi, unagi sushi and salmon sushi. Yummy!
Was meeting up with a friend - a bride-to-be and with some of her \'sisters\' at wheelock place for her wedding discussion. I was one of the sister.
I was late that day, by the time when i reached wheelock place, I was told to come to sakae sushi as they were all there waiting for me.
Well, i am defintely not a sakae sushi \'fan\'. Bcos I feel that the quality of their food is below average and is not authentic enough as compare to many other Japanese restaurants. And most importanly, their price is not cheap at all for that kind of food and portion (very small) that they are serving.
Anyway, since the bride-to-be and her sisters have chosen sakae sushi and already been seated. I don\'t have much choice actually. So I just made my way there, seated and just ordered some sushi for my dinner. I tried to minimise my order actually.
The sushi over there is rather standard. Not surprised and not disappointed either. Its just average.
Spending: Approximately SGD 10
I like the service there. The staff are friendly and nice. (: The food they served is fast and they will help us to clear our plate when there is only two to three plate. The sushi there taste fresh and the side dish they served us is still hot. So do try it when you walk pass there .
I simply love sushi!!! I feel that they are the best way to eat your rice with! One of my favourite is the unagi sushi. I seem to find that sakae sushi serves one of the best there. The unagi is very fresh and sweet. love the tenderness of the meat, when dip with the soya sauce, it is indeed an awesome delicacy! Love it!
Sakae is a good place for gatherings with affordable tasty japanese food.I love ordering their side dishes that is really good priced at $2.29 each before tax and there is a wide selection.I love how i can order at ease with the convenience of the easy to manipulate computer order system.Kani chawamushi and chasoba cold noodle are 2 of my must-order each time i come across sakae sushi outlets. The chasoba is up to expection with well-done noodles and cold soba sauce.chawamushi is topped with a generous serving of kani crabmeat.I love the soft sweet egg mixture of the chawamushi.OVerall nice ambience and good service, i would come back again
I had a Sakae dinner using the capitaland vouchers since Lot One is one of them. My boyfriend and I walked in on a week night and we were glad that there wasn\'t any queue as we were starved. We didn\'t go with any buffet or main courses, instead we just ordered the colored plates and enjoyed the varieties till we were full.
I extremely love the Cha Soba and Fried Tofu. These 2 are my must-have whenever I dine at Sakae. The mochi as dessert was pretty good too. Service here is a little slow, sadly. The hot macha is awesome too.
Found this Sakae Sushi restaurant just next to the Breadtalk at Tiong Bahru. The space for this Sakae Sushi restaurant is not so big and the shape of this restaurant is a bit weird, it’s in L shape. The end is blocked. I walked all the way back to the front and go another side again while my friend just sat at the table that just a table away from where I standing.
Overall the food is nice. I like the Tamago sushi because the Tamago is soft but not soggy. They do not have many variety of sushi on the belt. You might need to order through the systems that installed in the pc on your table or get the waiter to help. The Sakae Chawanmushi is disappointing. The eggs are not smooth, and I can see so many holes in the chawanmushi that caused of the bubbles that appears when they beat the eggs I suppose.
I am sorry to say that, their service is quite good but I hardly get what they trying to say. They are mainly foreigner workers from Philippines or Indonesia. I am not sure.

Sakae sushi have sushi buffet where you get to eat unlimited sushi. Only a couple of branches have buffet lunch while all the outlets have buffet tea. I went to the cityvibe branch at clementi to enjoy my delicious sushi buffet. It starts at 1130am to about 2 plus. It has been a while since I have eaten sakae sushi and was surprise to find that they have lobster salad into their addition. Since I am a fan of lobster salad, I was thrilled to order my red plate of lobster salad. It was really good!
Went for a buffet lunch with my classmate after school, 4 of us are student so we going for the student rate buffet is about $16++ onward. The service is fast and the staff are all polite and friendly. The buffet is from 3-6pm and the shop is rather quiet during weekdays and there\'s quite many table available. This buffet is simple and easy as you just need to take Order using the computer provided there or see any sushi that\'s moving around. Only some plate color is available for buffet, The red color you will need to pay for it, what other color will need to pay i don\'t quite remember. The sushi is quite fresh and using a computer to take order is so much easy and don\'t need to leave our seat to take any food is 1 advantage to stay relax and chill. The place is clean and aircon is cooling, LOVE THIS PLACE
For a bowl of Kimuchi Ramen, it costs SGD9.99. Quite reasonable.
It came in a big bowl and the serving itself was quite big. Taste wise, rather normal. The soup base was quite sour as I believed it was because of the Kimchi.
Basically, a mixture of Japanese & Korean cuisine. JK food lovers should order this! Worth it.
This is a small outlet where they have a section in front for customes who buy takeaway. In front, there is a wide selection of sushi, and from there, we can see the customers dining inside. It was mildly embarrassing to choose sushi there, as we were directly facing the people inside due to their table arrangement, and they would usually look at this sushi corner intently while eating... The unagi sushi is quite nice, with the bit of wasabi in-between to spice up the sushi. The egg sushi is not too sweet, and it is very soft and spongy. The bean curd sushi is tasty as the beancurd skin is braised in sweet sake till just right, and it melts very fast in the mouth.
Everytime I\'m there I will definitely go for the tea time or dinner buffet!
Personally I think tea time buffet is more worth it \'cause it\'s cheaper but you can still eat till the night!
I really like the buffet because there is a wide variety of sushis to choose from! You can eat till you drop seriously. However they do limit the number of red plates (more expensive) you can take. But i\'m okay with it because I\'m sure the organization has got to minimize their costs as well. There is also one serving of udon and desserts under the buffet! Drinks are not included though.
One down side would be the selection of sushis on the belt only comes in intervals. So sometimes there will not be a wide variety on the conveyor belt and you have to order from the menu.
But i\'ll definitely recommend this place if you are looking for japanese buffet. The ala carte is too expensive!Spending: Approximately SGD 20(Tea)
Whenever Ithink of sushi, I will think of sakae sushi. I love going to their buffet be it lunch time or tea time. However the way they classifytheir customers seems a little different. Yum!
This is a wonderful place to eat alone without looking abit out of place, unlike in other restaurants. They use conveyor belt to send the sushi from the kitchen to us. I enjoyed the cold noodles soaked in soy sauce, and the tempura. During lunch hour, quite hard to call the staff over if one needs to order other items. The music is indeed quite loud, I would love soft classical types than their pop japanese songs.
Ala carte meal at Sakae Sushi. Their fried scallop is hot and crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. It\'s a little dry, a must to mixed with mayonaise to taste. Amaebi sushi is sweet and nice. There\'s a little raw smell though. Dipped with wasabi and all is fine. Okonomiyaki is a tad too soft and wet to my liking.
I remember the days where Sakae Sushi had its hype going with the all-you-can-eat sushi buffet tea.
Anyway, I was here 2 days back and had the udon noodles instead. It came with pork sliecs, an egg, mushroom, Japanese fish cake and a side fried tempura prawn. The soup was oily from the pork slices being soaked in it, was tasty still. The udon noodles however were soft, perhaps next time the kitchen could cut down a little on the cooking time for that. The tempura prawn was good and crispy.
Overall it was average dinner.Spending: Approximately SGD 13(Dinner)
I was at Sakae Sushi mid 2010, when they had the steamboat and sushi buffet. Sushi buffet is as usual, you are only allowed to eat the low priced plates. And not the higher priced red plates.
However, I do find the steamboat very nice, because they use the Shoyu Stock with dried Konbu sticks. It\'s really savory. And when you put the scallop and flower crab in, it tastes really good!
And of course you can also cook your beef shabu shabu style, or just leave it in the broth and scoop it up later and enjoy at your leisure.
I did notice that steamboat buffet customers have to be seated in the far corner of the restaurant. Not that I have anything to complain, I prefer to be seated in a quiet corner, rather than in the middle of noisy families with boisterous children.
Spending: Approximately SGD 70(Dinner)
It’s a Sakae Sushi day again. When I stepped into the restaurant, I can hear many people talking. Maybe the restaurant is too small? So if everybody is talking slowly, its will still turn out become noisy?
We’ve ordered Sakae Chawanmushi. The egg is so smooth and taste so good. I think they added miso soup into the egg to make it a bit salty and fragrance. The salmon karaage is a little bit dry, and they do not provide any sauce to dip. It’s good for sharing, the portion is quite big. The soft shell crab rolls is nice with the sesame on the top. Overall the sushi is fine. They have quite a lot of sushi on the belt.
Spending: Approximately SGD 10(Lunch)
Personally, I dont quite understand why Sakae sushi is quite popular in Singapore. I feel that the quality oftheir food is below average and is not authentic enough as compare to many other Japanese restaurants. And most importanly, their price is not cheap at all for that kind of food and portion (very small) that they are serving.
The quality of the japanese rice which is used in the sushi and bento set is very important to me, it will really affect the taste of the bento and sushi. Generally, i felt that the rice Sakae is using is much inferior or lower grade than what the other Japanese restaurant is using. Their rice is much drier and less frangance. And I ever had a chawamushi that has turned bad at habourfront branch. Ever since, i told myself not to visit Sakae (any Sakae) again! Its not worth at all!
Honestly speaking, Sakae Sushi\'s standards are dropping. I remembered when i first had it, the food was so much more fresh and tastier as compared to now. Maybe because there are much better competitors out there? Anyway, i had a few ala-carte dishes. A few of my favourites are Ika, Salmon sashimi and Chawanmushi. As for Ika, it is rather slimy and smelly. Not fresh at all! Salmon sashimi was soso. The cut wasn\'t perfect at all as i can\'t seem to chew it off at some point. Chawanmushi, have a strong smell of egg. Rather unpleasant i can say. All in all, very disappointed with the food quality given the price.
Went to Sakae Sushi to have the last round of Lohei and because it’s a lunch time. We queued up outside the restaurant like 15mins to get seats. The manager is unfriendly and with the annoying face. He used to scream to his staff from the cashier. It’s really annoying for us when we are chatting and eating happily there.
The Lohei is good. Salmon is fresh, vegetables are fresh too, and the sauce is right to the point. The waitress helped us to add the crackers, sauces and everything into the colorful vegetables. The sushi there is standard. No surprised.Spending: Approximately SGD 15(Lunch)
We are searching a place to chill out and have dinner, Sakae at City Vibe is a good place because the queue is not long although at dinner time. But we are upset with the service of the staffs in the restaurant. They are unfriendly, not even smile or say thank you when we are leaving. It’s very hard to call a waiter to approach your table maybe they are busy or they are ignorance? I don know…
Food is standard. The food standard is the same as what I dine at other Sakae Sushi. We’ve ordered Premium Bento to share. I don’t really like tofu but the Premium Bento has one cold tofu. I’ve tasted it, not so bad. If you like tofu, you might like it but still, it’s not my cup of tea
Yusheng also known as lo hei (in Cantonese) is a raw fish salad. It consists of raw fish slices (salmon for Sakae\'s), mixed with shredded vegetables and a variety of sauces and condiments, among other ingredients. It is also a relatively sweet salad. I like Sakae\'s yusheng as being a Japanese chain restaurant, the raw salmon slices used are fresh unlike some Chinese tze char restaurants out there. They also do delivery services with a minimal purchase but my parents picked them up themselves that day. The shredded vegetables are fresh too. However we only used half the amount of sweet plum sauce given as we were afraid that the salad might turn out too sweet.Spending: Approximately SGD 15(Dinner)
