At SuzukiGuitar.SG, Children age 5 years old and above attend weekly individual lessons and a monthly group lesson with active parental involvement. Children play a suitable sized classical guitar and study Guitar accordingly to the Suzuki Guitar Method. In Suzuki, We believe that all children can develop superior ability in music when combination of good teaching, loving support, consistent effort and diligence are present.

About The Trainer ![]() Andrew Wee Andrew Wee began to study the classical guitar under established classical guitarist Ernest Kwok and later with Alex Abisheganaden. He also studied with Miles Jackson at Nelson, New Zealand. He is trained as a Suzuki guitar instructor from Longay Conservatory of Guitar, USA and Zeah Riordan from Australia. Andrew has been active with guitar ensemble performance for the last 10 years playing with various groups such as Ngee Ann Strings and Toa Payoh Guitar Club. Alex Abisheganaden, musician, was awarded the Cultural Medallion in 1988. He is Singapore’s first homegrown classical guitarist and double bassist, and dedicated much of his life educating and popularising the performance of music on the guitar. Although his full-time career was in the education service, he developed an enviable reputation as a highly versatile musician, equally adept in classical, popular and traditional genres. The Suzuki Method
Starting training in Suzuki Guitar Training at authorized centers is essential for any music teacher hoping to teach using the Suzuki method. In order to be an effective Suzuki teacher, ongoing education is encouraged through attendance at Suzuki conference, institutes, short - term and long - term programs. Typically, teachers will have to attend short-term training program for each volume of Suzuki book each year. In the training program, specific teaching techniques for every component of learning will be presented. The Suzuki Association of the Americas (SAA) considers training at the Frank Longay Guitar conservatory to be a professional pedagogical study course and hence requires participants to have a 1. High school graduation 2. SAA active membership 3.Every Child Can! Course 4. Video audition accepted by SAA. A) Every Child Can!; Every Child Can! Is a six-hour introduction to Dr. Suzuki’s philosophy and its application to Suzuki education as created and implemented by the Suzuki Association of the Americans. This is catered for parents, teachers, perspective teachers and interested professionals, this course provides an inspiring, in-depth look at the Suzuki approach to teaching and learning. B) Book 1 of Suzuki Guitar School; This workshop, which includes the “Every Child Can!®” one day course described above, will offer an in-depth study of the Suzuki philosophy, parent education, how to introduce Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star to a three year old, educational strategies, keeping motivation alive, conducting private lessons, the importance of tone production, fun ways to insure proper technique, listening skills, songs and other activities for the Pre-Twinkler, the general construction and key points of each piece of Book I of the Suzuki Guitar School™, practice skills, the importance of review and group class, a “hands-on” approach for conducting successful group class, making group class fun, etc. There will be the opportunity to observe as much as 30 hours of teaching with LCG students.
