Experience entertainment redefined with Tomo Izakaya, a place which offers the perfect blend of the old and new.

Tomo Izakaya captures the essence of the traditional izakaya with its chic, minimalist Zen-like décor while injecting youthful fun in its overall vibe.

In Japanese, tomo (toh-moh) means ‘friend’ and izakaya comes from a combination of I (ee) and sakaya (sah-kai-ya) which means ‘to stay in a sake shop’. The focus of Tomo Izakaya is the strengthening of bonds between friends and families over a relaxing meal of fine Japanese food and drink in a youthful, vibrant yet relaxed ambience, entertained by jazz music nightly.

The Ton-Syabu, which is a Japanese salad with thin slices of boiled pork, small tomatoes, some onions and sesame sauce is a must to try. The vegetables and pork slices are fresh and the serving is generous.

Japanese casual dining restaurant, nice ambience and reasonable price.
Had an intense craving for Salmon Sashimi, so when I had to wait around for my friends at esplanade, being the pig that I am, I cldnt resist the temptation of a Japanese restaurant beckoning me towards it. I knew it will sell Salmon sashimi in some form, so when i took the menu I was hunting for the thing that will satisfy me. Mt first order was 2 pieces of salmon sushi (I thought I shall leave some space in my tummy in case my friends wanted to go for supper after that). However when i continued flipping through the pages of the menu, I saw this! I could hear, I could feel, I could sense that it was staring at me, calling out to me. \'Eat me Eat me!\' No choice, I had to cancel my first order and of course, I couldnt disappoint my sixth sense - This is THE ONE! It was a beautiful sight when the chef presented the bowl of salmon chirashi. Looks almost surreal. I quickly devour what was in my bowl. The pieces of salmon were thick, satisfyingly thick to satisfy even the toughest critic. Each piece was fat, each piece was oozing out with omega 3. Every bite tellls me that I am getting healthier and healthier. Okay I am slightly deluded. I cant actually describe in words how wonderful this bowl is. The ikura that accompanies this bowl was also marvellous. The chef was very generous in the amount of ikura. Then again I paid $20 of this bowl. Anyway my only regret is that I ate way way too fast. If only I had slowed down and savour each and every bite. This is what happens when you are too hungry, and the food looks too pleasing. I will definitely be back, I should bring my mum too, she would appreciate this wonderful bowl as much as I did.
My first time to this Japanese restaurant after hearing many raves. I had their Onsen Tamago which is soft boiled egg with Japanese soy sauce. It is very delicious. Cold, smooth and fresh! One of this is $3. Pretty on the high end for just an egg. Else i would not hesitate to order more. My main is tempura soba. It is normal. Nothing fanciful to be honest. The tempura is fresh and crispy, noodle is soft and abit bland in my opinion.
$15 nett Bento and Don set lunches are available! Choices of tori karaage don, salmon teriyaki don or weekly special!
Pamper yourself with some healthy sushi tonight @ Tomo Izakaya. Their fresh produce is flown in from Tokyo twice weekly! Hence the somewhat steep prices ranging from $18 onward for sashimi. Dinner is from 6pm till late.
well this is jap restaurant dishes are rather expensive but the quality is up to the standard i am sorry as i manage to take only one photo that year my friend treated me this sushi fish eggs.. well it was my first time trying and to my surprise.. it melts in my mouth and its light salty and mild sweet its not weird or has any fishy taste u must try it to know what i mean =) the rest of the dishes taste good too ^^
I went with a group of friends around one year ago for our christmas celebration. We don\'t really want the crowds at Orchard area so we have chosen to celebrate our christmas at Clarke Quay and decided to dine at Tomo Izakaya. The ambience was really good and we really like the cosy environment and the spaciouness of the restaurant. The food was good too but maybe slightly below my expectations and the food over there is quite expensive because all food are ala carte items, they does not come in sets. Compare with other Japanese restaurant, the food is quite authetic and the quality of food is quite good. Its a nice dining experience over there.Spending: Approximately SGD 60
