India is counted among the poorest countries in the world and therefore it is not surprising that our country is enlisted as a third world country. However, India is far different from, and in stark contrast with the other third world countries in the sense that unlike to the other third world countries, India is considered as one of the fastest emerging economies in the world. Along with the Chinese economy, the world economy is relying on the Indian economy to bail itself out of the current economic misfire. Slowly and steadily, India has emerged as a force to reckon with in the field of Information Technology. Alongside, India has also remained a tough contender as far as is concerned. Be it or , today India is mostly sought after worldwide and especially by the western clients.
Money is pouring into the Indian economy, thanks to the increasing number of multinational companies that are flocking into India in order to take advantages of the amazing business prospects available here. These countries are getting first-rate output at a very cheap rate.
In turn, the Indian middle class is prospering extraordinarily. This can be well gauged by the fact that most of the foreign brands and costly lifestyles have found takers in one of the poorest countries of the world. The lifestyle of Indian youth has also changed with the youngsters in India emerging as the highest spending youths in the world. It is also true that a couple of Indians have become the richest people in the world. Some of the world's biggest companies owe an Indian origin. This is indeed a startling irony that a country that has given birth to highest poverty rates in the world can boost of such great feats. India is not just limited to the glories achieved by individuals in the country. For example, being one of the financially weakest countries of the world, it is nothing short of a miracle when we say that two of India's major cities are listed as the costliest and richest cities in the world. Standing tall at number nine is our answer to the mighty Hollywood. Yes guys, you have got it right! Mumbai is rated as the world's ninth richest and costliest city, followed by Bangalore, which is placed at the 46th position.
No doubt that we need to be immensely proud of the developments the country has achieved in these fields lately, but altogether we should never lose sight of our ultimate objective. Not for once, we should forget that we as Indians have to fulfill a host of responsibilities towards our country. Unemployment, illiteracy, high rates of child and women mortality, child labor, female feticide, innumerable social stigmas and most importantly, a corrupt political system are some of the issues that have to be minimized and done away with. These are the principal issues that need to be addressed and if these are not resolved, the whole array of achievements detailed above would definitely appear superficial and not worthy at all. Only then, India will achieve uniform and overall improvement and would find its place among the most developed countries in the world.
