How to Invent or Innovate

By: Ferdinand V. Cenon

No matter the age, sex or educational background we can learn how to invent or innovate. This brings to the false notion that it has to be a gift or be born with it.

Just associate in your imagination simple key words such as the following: MAGNIFY, MINIFY, ADOPT, SUBSTITUTE, CHANGE, REVERSE, COMBINE.

Seven (7) basic words that you can associate with anything, a thing, a person or any object, living or non-living. Out from which you can come up with countless of ideas and results, which later may end to either an invention or innovation, hopefully that could change history or making life better.

An ordinary pencil when you apply MAGNIFY, transforming it to a 12-storey building can be a tool for advertising or unique monument. A once before desktop computer ends up with a MINIFIED handheld pc or now called palm-top device.

A helicopter is an adoptation of a dragonfly and a needle is a REVERSED form of sawing machine's inverted needle. A sunglass that CHANGES color during the day or a traditional blackboard chalk has now its SUBSTITUTE in a form of erasable marker pen. Finally, a cellphone is a COMBINATION of a calculator, telephone, PC, an mp3 player, camera, videocam, and guess what's next.

Just employing these 7 ordinary words you can produce extraordinary results.

There are other techniques available hoping to be shared or contributed by you. If you feel this helped you stirr up your creativity and imagination, please note us your thoughts and ideas.
