SAP B1 Chicagoland : Upgrade, Customization, Reporting

By: Andrew Karasev

Alba Spectrum, one of the leading nationwide ERP systems integrators is re-announcing its SB1 implementation, user training, modules selection, reports design and modification support practice in Chicago, IL metropolitan area. This small and medium size business ERP is a good fit for Northern Illinois and North West Indiana light manufacturing and assembly industries, who are in essence Nationwide distributors of their products. Let's review SAP BO implementation bullets:
1.Licensing. It is all-in-one per named user, however there are combinations, especially for CRM and web CRM components users: for service, for AR and for web only named users

2.Discrete Manufacturing. SB1 production and MRP modules cover small business manufacturing needs, plus they include out of the box such often required features as disassembly production order - this is when you are disassembling and placing the part back to your inventory warehouse bins

3.Warranty Contracts. To speak in general about generic ERP application, warranty contracts and service features should be in, but you not always expect them to be available for Small Business ERP, or at least not out of the box

4.Pick and Pack in Inventory Control. If you are shipping containers or boxes nationwide, you expect robust ERP functionality to track what is inside each unit

5.Rentals Items. SB1 has wonderful features of ERP flexibility, and we often see the case, when customer, originally requested specific custom feature to be programmer, as time of SB1 using progresses, finds its own way of replacing custom logic by adapting SAB Business One standard logic with specific procedure. Rentals is very good example - you can deploy transfer to technician and return from technician as sample procedures to implement relevant inventory transfers between warehouses: rented out and items for rent for example
