What are Viruses

Nowadays, most of us are aware and "armed" in one way or another, more or less, to eliminate the thread that haunts the Internet for quite some time. But are exactly are viruses?

Viruses are programs compiled with the help of Pcs, and they are brought to live for one purpose only: to produce damage and to steal information from your computer. They have the ability of opening programs, files, documents and even to auto copy themselves in various locations.

Once you've accessed/opened a program/file that is infected, you automatically activate the virus, without knowing it. Some viruses activate themselves once they are copied on your computer's hard drive.

Symptoms of a virus infection

The symptoms totally depend on the virus you are infected with and on your system's performances. The main factor that influences the symptoms of an infection is the way the viruses are programmed. Some of them are programmed to erase files, other destroy the operating system, or they might simply fill up your computer with unwanted unnecessary files, that take up memory and make the computer encounter difficulties in running important and crucial processes.

No matter what they were programmed to do, one think is certain: you wouldn't want an infected computer not even in your local network.
