Registry Cleaner - Restore Your Computer Performance

By: Kok Choon

The History

When Windows 95 first introduce registry database, programming and management of Windows software has improved, but the performance has also decrease over time. The main reason for computer slowing down is because registry database has grown too large and failed to load into the memory without using the very slow virtual memory.

Birth of Registry Cleaner

I still remember the first registry cleaner I use to clean my Windows - Norton Utilities! Back then no independent registry cleaner exists and Norton Utilities is absolutely my favorite. After Windows 98 released, Microsoft has released a small utility call RegClean and this is the first independent registry cleaner! Since then Registry Cleaner has become more popular!

Current trend

When Microsoft introduced .Net framework back in 2002, Windows registry has been replaced by xml configuration file with extension of .

config, with more and more .Net application, Windows registry problems were reduced. However, until the next release of Windows 7, Windows user still needs to maintain the registry with some software, unless they never install more than 10 applications, and this includes uninstalled programs.

Another way to avoid the registry problem is to use only the fully .Net compatible application, and I must say that is not possible for Normal situation. The majority software is still not .NET compatible, such as small utility and protection software - Anti Virus, Anti Spyware, Messenger...

By now you should be looking for some registry cleaner software to help you restore and maintain your computer speed, find out more info and which is the best registry cleaner.
