Can you lose weight by taking cabbage soup only? It can be assumed that most people who have thought of taking a diet should have heard of such a diet. Some of them may even have tried it before. Of course it may be some varied versions of this diet.

As a matter of fact, there is no definite inventor of this kind diet. It is because no one has come out to say he / she is the inventor of it. Besides, there is no concrete definition of this kind diet. And this is why you may have tried different variations of the diet.

There are different versions of this diet. And you can find these versions on different magazines and websites. Everyone who try to promote it will probably add some features to it. Of course they may also try to take away some features of it. As a result, depending on which version you are taking, you will have different foods besides cabbage soup.

There are some myths concerning this diet. There are saying that cabbage is an effective fat burner. However, the fact is that it is not true. Besides, there are also people saying that you can lose something like 10 pounds a week when you take this diet. This is not true either. And as you may know, losing 10 pounds a week may do harm to your body health.

In fact, the truth of this diet is that you will try to starve yourself. You may think that you are not starving yourself since you will still take the soup. But the point here is that it is only soup and some water. You only keep you feel full with the soup and as a consequence you will not feel hungry. You will not eat other things if you are not feeling hungry. This means that you are trying to keep yourself feel full and at the same time eat less. And of course you will be able to lose some weight if you do so!

From the above, you may know that this diet may not be really good for your health. Do you think you can be kept in the state of starvation for three month? The answer is absolutely a NO. Besides, since you are actually losing water and muscle mass when you are taking this diet. The chance is that you may have weight gain after a week of so. So, it is better not to take this diet if you would like to lose weight healthily.
