Nokia 6288 - Something More.

By: Carly

Nokia 6288 looks like a sibling of Nokia 6280, and if you were to mistake the both for the same, you
ought not to be punished. The only reason why Nokia chose to launch Nokia 6288 is because the handset is a firmware upgrade of 6280. So, there has been some enhancements and a few minor design differences, like altered keypad spacing and a touch of gloss in its finishing. The handset also comes with a larger miniSD card.

Nokia 6288 is a squarish slider phone, that comes wrapped in a black suit to exude a refine and sedate impression. When closed, the phone is dominated by a large screen, having 320 x 240 pixels. This makes viewing of pictures in particular, an eye-candy. Talking of imaging experience, the Nokia 6288 is enabled with a 2 Megapixels camera. The camera comes complete with a flash and tiny self portrait mirror. While, dedicated buttons for camera operations make usage of the camera a convenient experience.

When the Nokia 6288 is slid open, grid-styled business like keypad is exposed. The keys are neat rectangular in shape, and have a thin silver line surrounding their periphery. This design scheme compliments the make of the mobile in the most apt manner. To take the office on roads, the Nokia 6288 offers the versatility of 3G data transfer speeds, Triband compatibility, and support for IMAP, POP3 and SMTP e-mail. It also makes video calling and video sharing applications much easier. Further, the enhanced Nokia 6288 supports A2DP Bluetooth profile, that allows you to stream music wirelessly to a stereo headset.

Nokia 6288 presents a good compromise between entertainment and business. It falls somewhere between the Nokia 'E series' and the multimedia enriched 'N series'. There are some areas still to be paid attention into though. These may include a quick revision about random shutdowns, reboots, signal loss and poor battery life.
