Integrating Lotus / Sharepoint Solutions

By: Shosho Ricko

There are a lot of kosher solutions around the WWW for blending the IBM Lotus Notes (Lotus Development Corporation) with other CMS firms, I am sure that consistently people working on solutions to integrate Lotus with Document management systems like O3spaces, Sharepoint or ISIS Papyrus for example.

But I would like to talk the Lotus Notes @ Microsoft SharePoint. There are available tools which help to spread out or organize strategically client side plugs for Lotus that convey approach to the Microsoft files in folders under the Lotus interface for person who's using the PC.

This kind of tools making ways to transfer files and Sharepoint content (like all Microsoft kind of OFFICE documents, Microsoft Outlook and more) - with all you can drag and drop files to and from Microsoft Sharepoint - while choosing to option (attachment or links)

I've checked this whole area for Sharepoint with Lotus way to affect Windows, Active Directory, SQL Server and WWW services and all this integration area is usually kind of HARD to make. So I was kind of amazed when I found Mainsoft.

Mainsoft's SharePoint integraph is not migration software, but might as well SharePoint-Java to communicate "together" software - an IBM Lotus SharePoint integration supa-dupa-solution. The software allows workers to run Office docs from the Lotus Notes interface, drag-n-drop all SharePoint hosted on a site from a sidebar in IBM Lotus into calendar, e-mail application and basically the whole important features on both applications. With the SharePoint Server, there is an easy way to update component s and view office document and tasks.

Together with the quality of working properly on the SharePoint sidebar, the whole pack make capable to develop / improve composite applications and create a timetable of tasks within a computer system "mash-ups" of SharePoint DB over the IBM Lotus Notes surroundings. The CA allows the one who utilizes the system to use Lotus Notes as an complete desktop.
