Anonymity

By: Satish Verma

There was a pause in time
in acoustic deafness,
You hear nothing.

Like a book read by somebody else
highlighted, marked, underlined
your figure puts up an antithesis
of neuralgias and aches.

For namesake, cause-effect becomes
timeless.
Mind surrenders to white-and-grey
neurotransmitters
and you want to return to the womb.

Life plays a game with you.
Denies, pushes and tosses you around
with nothingness.
Was not the anonymity
a better choice ?
