It started out as an add-on to a graduate's website which was only intended to sell collector's items. It is now globally renowned as the place to buy and sell anything. The are many advantages of using eBay, the global marketplace, cheaper goods and the fact that something that is not on demand on one side of the planet could be on another part of the globe.

On eBay it is possible to list items in two forms, these being; i) auctions and ii) fixed price listings where a buy it now facility is available like any other high street shop. Although obvious, if you are going to find the keys to eBay success you need to find a product which sells well. This can be referred to as a product niche and the only true way to find a niche is to research the marketplace thoroughly. It can take anything up to a month to research the marketplace and find a product niche. Unlike many eBay sellers I am happy to now tell you which niche I found - horror models. The product which I found sold well was also sold by a local model shop. I have since found numerous other niche products and I continually research new products as the demand for a product tails off which is an inevitable consequence of the marketplace being flooded with similar products.

The advantages of continuous research into the eBay marketplace can be found in the sales that are observed when a niche product is found. Try to go for items that are light as this can greatly reduce the cost of shipping goods. Anything can sell on eBay so when researching products, do not rule out making money on anything. It is possible to purchase products at a low price and sell them on at a higher price. For example, a lot of people do not realize that if you list a product with an ending time that falls during the day on a week day when people are working, it is likely to bring less bids and therefore sell for a lower price. So if you want to find the keys to eBay success and work from home don't hesitate get researching.
