Business hotels in Spain, as their name implies, are hotels which aim to serve business travelers. Not that other types of travelers are technically banned from these hotels. It just so happens that the facilities and amenities of business hotels are geared for the needs of travelers out on a business trip, perhaps for an annual conference or special event, but of course they would welcome other types of travelers as well.

The first factor you should look for in your preferred business hotel in Spain is the level of comfort they can supply. This means having comfortable sleeping rooms and cleanliness observed everywhere.. Even if your preferred hotel facilities offer just the most basic accommodations, so long as you are comfortable during your stay, then that is already a good deal you are getting.

Cost is the main selling point of many of Spain's business hotels. Because so many business travelers are cost conscious or are traveling on a budget, you may need to be inquisitive as to what exactly you are paying for. The more professional business hotels in Spain might have a brochure on hand all the time for walk-ins, or you can look around their website if you like. At most, you might need to phone them and make your inquiries that way. But before you do any of these, always know exactly what you are looking for so that your questions are specific enough to avoid misunderstandings. For those on business events that require meeting facilities, conference rooms and the like, you should ensure that the meeting spaces suit your requirements in both size and lay out. Perhaps you need natural light or a large area for projector presentations. These things should be clear before you make your reservations. Or you can utilise the services of an event planner that has local and expert knowledge in organising business events and conferences and can help you narrow down the venue selection process.

One way that misunderstandings might develop is if the business hotels staff are not so good in English as a second language. This is why you might be surprised how many Spain's business hotel staff are very highly educated – the management want front line staff who understand the clients so that business event flows smoothly without hindrances like misunderstandings. A high level of educational attainment also helps in assuring heightened professionalism in the organization. Again utilizing an event planner with local knowledge and language skills can prevent breakdowns in communication.

Another service your preferred business hotel in Spain needs to offer is telephone service in your room, and Internet access either in your room or from a specific facility within the hotel. This is because business travelers have to stay in contact with their peers, subordinates, bosses, and even business partners while they are on the road. A prudent and well-prepared business hotel would probably have at least a working phone line capable of both domestic and long-distance calls while a more advanced business hotel would have installed Internet access too. Either way, you need to stay connected so always ask about these as well.
