There are dates that turn into disasters, and then there are dates that are disasters in the making! Some dates should never have been allowed to take place in the first place-- although it isn't usually until afterwards that someone will tell you about things you ought to have known before accepting the date!



Here are some situations that fall into the bad dates to avoid category.

--The Must-Be-Right Date

Unless you are quite happy to be constantly corrected, even about your personal opinions the date that has to be right about everything is one of the bad dates to avoid. You need someone who will validate you as a person, but unfortunately the must-be-right date is someone who can only feel validated themselves by trampling over your self-confidence. If you have confidence in abundance, and actually enjoy trampling on people who seem to get their thrills by forcing their opinions on others, you might find this date mildly entertaining. If however you're hoping for a nice evening where you can enjoy a friendly conversation, you're going to be disappointed. If you know about this person's need to be right about everything in advance, don't go on the date!

--The Opposite-Opinion Date

Could be related to the must-be-right date in that their way is the only way, not that you're wrong, just that their way is best! Opposites attract right? Well yes, maybe and no! Especially if your date is your religious and political opposite and is focused on converting you during the date! If you know that you are poles apart before the date, cancel it because it's just not going to work!

--The Silent Date

Ok, so if you've dated the must-be-right date, and the opposite-opinion date, then the silent date is probably a step in the right direction, but be prepared, it's going to be a long night! Don't get me wrong, strong silent types are great in their place, and there's not much better than a comfortable silence between people who care for each other , but when you're little more than strangers who don't know each other the silences are endless and awkward! Be prepared by having a bunch of stock questions you can ask to try and draw any date out of their shell if they start giving you the silent treatment, you could also make sure you have a decent game or two on your cellphone as a back-up plan should the conversation starters fail!

--The You're-Ok-but-I'm Fab Date

This date is one you will wish was silent after the first 20 minutes describing how great they are and how lucky you are to be out with them! Usually they'll run a critical eye over everything and everyone around them, and tell you what's wrong with it all, loudly, before assuring you that you look like great, but of course you do, you're with them! Unless you want to feel like a disposable accessory, this date needs to be avoided!

There's a lot of people out there waiting in the date pool to be picked out, but if you pick out one of the above, toss them back in before you're stuck with them for an entire date!
