You may once again be able to wear your England rugby shirts with pride, with he new addition to England's back room staff, attack coach Brain Smith. It has been reported to have claimed that England under his direction will start to play a more expansive form of rugby ready for this autumns international rugby fixtures. England, and manager Martin Johnson, secured Smith at long last after a long bout of negotiations with London rugby club London Irish. Under Brian Smith's direction, London Irish we're able to reach the semi-finals of the sports much coveted Heineken Cup during last years season.

Charged with the mammoth task of giving England that much needed attacking edge, Brian Smith has his work cut out. Despite reaching the final of the last World Cup, there has been little else to celebrate in an England rugby shirt with the team consistently failing to impress, with a somewhat embarrassing tour of New Zealand on the way to Smith's appointment as attack coach.

Brain Smith knows all about the demands of today's game having played rugby himself as a former international, wearing the rugby shirts of both Ireland and Australia as is definitely of sort of calibur England have been screaming out for. England's new man is confident that he will be able to develop them into a top Rugby side during the coming international rugby matches against Australia, New Zealand as well as world champions South Africa. With Smith eager to impressed, only time will tell whether or not his experience and ideas will pay off for England's national rugby team.

During an interview for the RFU's popular podcast Smith was quoted as saying "I want us to threaten the defensive line from every position. Players want to play an exciting and expansive brand of rugby and they want to win. I believe we can do both those things and that's the sort of game I'm interested in coaching"
