And lying has become a habit for Brick, as well as for other members of the Pollitt family. However, whereas Maggie, Gooper and Mae lie when it comes to wealth and well-being, Brick is put into an even more tragic situation when he is bound to lie about his core feelings, about his essence. In contrast to his brother, wife and sister-in-law, he is not in the least interested in money and any creature comforts anymore. Is it not why his father prefers him to all other members of the family?
