Law offices come in all shapes and sizes. There are small offices where a single lawyer works with an assistant, meets with all of his or her clients on a one on one basis and keeps records of case data and backups of note, but rarely shares that information with others. There are the large law firms too - those with fifty or more lawyers with varying levels of experience that work cases in teams and need to share information (and that have more files to backup). One thing that all of these law offices have in common is the need to store information.

Having a Nexis CD and DVD Publisher in your law office can simplify the process of storing and, when necessary, sharing case data. With a Nexis CD and DVD publisher, it's easy to keep a copy of case notes and client data in the office without having filing cabinets lining every inch of wall space: simply copy the files onto a CD or DVD, set up labeling and store the CD or DVD securely; paper files and other case information can then be stored off-site so that it's available if you need it, but not taking over your office.

While having a Nexis CD and DVD publisher in your office is convenient for file storage whether you work in a small law office or for a larger firm, there are additional benefits for those in large firms to having a Nexis CD and DVD publisher that may not initially be considered. For example, if there is an investigator on staff at your law firm, he or she can provide case data to everyone involved with a specific client in order to ensure that everyone is on the same page. Law clerks who are working with attorneys on a case will be able to create a CD or DVD of the research that has been done in relation to a case - documentation of relevant cases and precedence.

Similarly, the Nexis CD and DVD publisher serves as a tool for associates and partners who are communicating with an "Of Counsel" lawyer from their firm. By providing case files to an Of Counsel lawyer, there's less paper to keep track of and information can be viewed on any computer. That doesn't mean, of course, that the files will not be secure: locking software can be used to limit access to those individuals who have the password to open files.

With a Nexis CD and DVD publisher in a law firm, attorneys are able to ensure that attorney-client privilege is respected and protected while still knowing that others who work with them and need to access the files will be able to do so. Each disc can be readily labeled with the appropriate case data from the rime it is created; therefore there will be no mislabeling mistakes made. Records will be secure. Case information that needs to be shared can be, and yet it will be protected at the same time. This makes the Nexis CD and DVD publisher an ideal tool for law offices of all sizes.
