Mugs are one of the most popular promotional items around—they’re inexpensive, and they serve an obvious function, and everyone can make use of them. Mugs are so commonly given, however, that it may sometimes be difficult to get the recipients of your promotional mugs to use them over any others they have.

One way of making sure that people prefer to use your mugs instead of or in addition to mugs they already own is by giving items that have some additional features that make them more useful than a standard coffee mug. A travel mug is a great example of such an item. Travel mugs are not designed to be used in the office—as their name suggests, they’re perfect for drinking your favorite coffee or tea on the go. If you give travel mugs, you won’t be competing with other companies that give out the standard kind of promotional mug, and your recipients will appreciate the gift of an item that they can use in places other than work.

People who travel long distances by car to get to work, or who regularly travel by car during their working day will definitely appreciate the gift of a travel mug. Those with long commute distances may not have time to enjoy a leisurely cup of coffee in the morning, but they’ll be able to enjoy their favorite hot drink during the trip to work with a well-designed travel mug that will both keep the drink hot, and protect their car from spills and stains.

Travel mugs are made from strong and durable materials that ensure the mugs will last for a long time—these are items that can last for years, and the unique function of the item will ensure that the recipient keeps it close at hand for much longer than they might a conventional coffee mug. Many also include some handy extra functions that make them ideal for use while traveling, such as thermal insulation, tight-fitting spill-free lids, and large, comfortable handles for extra convenience.

These handy items are available in a wide range of prices, too—promotional travel mugs start at ?1.63 for the least expensive option. More expensive promotional mugs often some very useful features. Starting at ?5.00 per item, you can purchase travel mugs that include a 12 volt car adaptor that can be used to keep drinks hot for an extended period of time.

Travel mugs are ideal for promotional giveaways in the travel and leisure industries. Give them away as spot prizes or door prizes at conferences or trade shows, or simply given as free gifts or purchase incentives in a retail store. Almost any company will find that they’re great gifts for employees and clients, too. Anyone that frequently travels by car for long distances will appreciate this type of gift, since it allows people to enjoy one of those home comforts—a really great cup of coffee—that can sometimes be difficult to find on the road.
