When you check out the different gift basket company sites, look for the following, which are hallmarks of good companies:

Variety

A gift basket company must be able to cater to a variety of needs and have items for all occasions. Of course, small-scale gift basket companies may do a wonderful job with what they have to offer but most often, you get better service with companies that have expanded.

Individualization

Gift basket companies that have set themes for their baskets or those that cannot cater to the individual tastes and requests of customers may suit certain clientele such as corporate consumers. If the gift basket is for a family occasion, more customization might be required. So, check that out depending on the type of client you are.

Promptness of service

Any gift basket company must honor their commitment to delivering or having the gift baskets ready on time. Sometimes, the only way to know if a company lives up to its promises is through word of mouth. So, ask around, and you might find a company that many people have had good experiences with.

Competitive prices

A good gift basket company must offer competitive prices. Of course, if you are looking for extravagant items to be included in the basket, you have to be prepared to pay more.

An array of payment methods

Good gift basket companies are not limited in the type of payments they take. Usually companies that accept credit cards are more reputable and may have better technology and services to serve them better. They should also offer the option of phoning in your orders and offer excellent customer service over the phone.

Excellent customer service

What if you can call in your order only on your lunch break, which happens to be their lunch break as well? They definitely need an answering machine. And, they need to acknowledge your call within an acceptable time period. You can also ask them how they will compensate you for any order gone wrong (due to their mistake). They might promise that they have a guarantee that nothing will go wrong. Hold them to their word. Look for customer testimonials on their web site. If the customer's contact information is available, contact them to solicit more information.

Online catalog

Most of the finer gift basket companies feature online catalogs with images that allow you to see how the gift baskets look. They also allow for direct ordering.

Do your homework and you'll definitely find an excellent gift basket company to suit your requirements.
