When filling out your online profile, it is best to keep it simple and positive. As much as possible don't write no more than three paragraphs. Your profile is not the place for you to mention how you were hurt by your past relationships. Instead, it is better to mention things of interests which you would want to have your potential date to share with.



Always post the correct and true pictures of yourself. Even if you do have the body of a male underwear model, it is not advised to post a topless picture of you flexing your muscles. Some women might be turned off with this or are less likely to believe that this is how you exactly look like as there are many men out there who post inaccurate or borrowed pictures of themselves. Of course, don't post a picture of you and another woman who does not all look like your mother or grandmother.

You cannot possibly expect women to contact you first. As is the case with offline dating, majority of the women have a preference over the men contacting them instead of them initiating contact. Also, there are more men who join online dating sites as compared to women so your profile would most likely be together with a pile of other prospects. To get a woman's attention take control of the situation and send her an email or an instant message. Keep your email brief and very friendly. Asking about her interests and sharing your interests can always spark conversation.

Women are very cautious about the men that they meet online so avoid being pushy and try to take things slow. You cannot expect a woman to give out her number on your first correspondence. Also, it is not polite to immediately ask for any contact number on an initial conversation. Be very patient and be contented for the meantime with your email exchanges. Usually after several email exchanges, a woman would be more than willing to give out a phone number if she doesn't have any apprehensions about you.

Do not expect too much from online dating for anything can happen. You may easily meet a woman, but she may easily disappear as well without giving you as much as an explanation of why she isn't responding any more.
